I would say my life changed for the better when, on my second try, I passed FAR with a 75. But it left me wondering if I would have given up had I gotten a 74. Then after much preparation I was blessed with a 76 for Reg.. I don’t know why this keeps happening. Just took audit and felt the questions I knew would have placed me around an 80 so I left a few SIM boxes empty to bring me closer to that 75 for continuity.
Anyone else barely pass and think they might have given up if they didn’t?

I wouldn't have given up if I hadn't squeaked by on any of the three sections I have passed, only because I know that I haven't put forth 100% effort in my
preparation for any section. Please don't take that as a brag, I am fully aware that I'm doing just about the minimum studying required to get a passing score. A friend told me to “strive for 75” in the name of efficiency, which was not my nature at first (graduated w/ 3.98 gpa), but as a working adult, I see his point – just get done and get out.

I am empathetic to those who struggle with repeated sections and expired credits. One failed section wouldn't do me in, but three or four would be pretty hard to cope with
if I knew I had given it my full
attention and effort.

That being said, I won't be too surprised if I have to retake FAR in Q2.

I'm confused by your question- and post. You first say you would have thought about given up had you not passed FAR on your second time and then you say you intentionally left questions blank on AUD to “strive for continuity”-

I'm not trying to be overly harsh but do you even want to be a CPA? I get the questioning yourself after a second fail- I think that is natural in this process- but then to self sabotage a possible chance to pass in order to “try and only get a 75”.. and ask the question anyone else barely pass and thought about giving up… it seems to me like you are trying to barely pass and then have a ready excuse to give up.

Take it from a person that has scored 2 75s back to back- I am grateful for that 1 point that made the difference between pass and fail. Did I consider giving up after getting those 75's HECK FREAKING NO! and no way in hell I even thought about not giving the next one my best effort. I have now failed FAR twice- and would be as happy at this point with a 75 as I would be with a 95-
