The title kind of says it all. I am scheduled to retake AUD on 10/31 but I cannot seem to force myself to do the work… I am far behind. Chances are I will have to Reschedule this test to a later date, like early December.

Has this happened to many others? I PASSED all the other sections. I failed AUD in Q2 with a 73… But now I am so burnt I cannot do anything I feel like. Someone please help. I have made some theories as to why this is happening.

1. I scored a 73, and am subconsciously overconfident.
2. The possibility to just push the test forward is there.
3. I might actually just be exhausted.
4. My mom hurdling insults at me calling me worthless, stupid, and telling me my Master’s gives me no value are finally getting to me.
5. I have lost hope.
6. etc, other misc stuff.

As of right now, my plan is to finish Becker’s A3-A4 by the 18-19th this month since I feel those were my weakest chapters.. then go back into the full on review using Progress Tests, and Final Review material. I am giving myself until the 23rd to get my S**t together, otherwise I might have to push the test forward for $35, whereas after the 23rd it will be much more expensive.

@Parthamis same here , finished all except FAR ,failed 3 times.For AUD if you are getting 73 ,just do two things ,first ,do Ninja MCQ and read the answer carefully.Second ,read standards AT 301,AT 501,ARC 80 ,ARC 120 thoroughly.I bet you will cross 75.Focus on Audit review and attestation standards.
When you read the answer in Ninja for MCQ , pay attention to references given in answer.I wish I can share my Audit standards notes with you but admin would't allow it.Try creating your own notes for above mentioned standards.You can download the referenced standards by googling.

If it's a retake and you've already done the work once, I would suggest just hammering a million MCQs between now and the end of the month. I've pretty much stopped reading or watching videos and rely on the test banks. Once I have a clearer idea of my weak areas, I'll watch videos or read up on those topics, but that's about it. Oh, and can't forget Ninja audio in the car to hopefully help on some topics.

I took AUD 5 times and never scored anything higher than a 69 on my attempt last fall. I took the spring off and hit it again this summer. I came back with two passing scores in the last window which has thankfully given me motivation to keep it up and hopefully get this done. Just keep pushing on!

@ana, even though I have not lost a part, I feel your pain. I know so many other people who lost parts, and eventually went on to pass.

@Wannafree I will look into those standards.

@Jennifer: That sounds like a good idea. Although I do feel as though I rushed through A4 during the initial test, I am redoing that chapter. And it's unfortunate that I cannot afford to get Ninja materials anymore, especially with the new bundles. I'll probably contact Customer Service to get a deal on the MCQs later. I did buy something for the other parts. Good luck to you, you'll definitely get it done.

For AUD alone, I pushed it TWICE bc I kept saying I wasn't ready. Yup, I coughed up that $70 that I WILL never get again. Look, a 73 ain't bad. But you need to study for it like as if it was first. Make you comb every detail.

I was in the same situation with FAR. I considered just stopping. What got me to come back was thinking how many people on A71 would love to be in my position, and would think I was nuts to consider quitting. I took about 4 months off studying. When I got back into it, I scheduled my retest 5 weeks out, then after 3 weeks I did extend another 5 weeks and it was exactly what I needed.

Your mom says that stuff to you? Good grief. My wife has a POS mother too. I tell her just because someone is blood, doesn't mean that you have to associate with them. Sounds like you're well accomplished and about to add the title of CPA to that list of accomplishments. Cut her loose and get this thing done. You're almost there.

Then after being estranged from your mother from some time, try to reconnect later. Hopefully by then she's learned some class.

@Parthamis You can do it! It's your last test, you are at the finish line and there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Just suck it up for a little bit. But after you'll pass you'll get your life back and it will be beautiful and the feeling will be surreal.

Do you live with her? If yes, then MOVE OUT! If not, stop talking to her until you are a CPA! Surround yourself with people who support and understand you. Audit is all about memorizing those damn reports and the wording of it. Just hit MCQs hard and read each answer carefully!
