Anyone else take FAR today? If so, how’d you feel about it? This was my 3rd attempt at it and every time I finish, I come out with mixed feelings. My second and third testlets were easier, which doesn’t give me the warm fuzzies.

    FAR: 49, 64

Took it today as well. 2nd attempt. Felt like 75% of it was governmental, IFRS and NFP.

First attempt it felt like the first testlet was quite easy. Not this time, I flagged at least 10 questions.

The rest didn't seem to get any harder which scares me, but I flagged around 5 on the 2nd and 2 on the last. The first SIM kinda threw me off because it was a topic I didn't study much for, assuming they wouldn't be so cruel… (73 on first attempt)

At least I think I got the research question, after hunting for something that was right in my face. Also when I tried to search for certain stuff in the codification I could never find anything I was looking for. Bunch of decision charts lol.

Hi …I hope you both did well and passed this monster exam!
not to be specific….but, did you had and DRS SIM Style? is that true, they tend to emphasis on GOV and NFP?

There was one DRS, if I were you I would study GOV, NFP and IFRS right before the exam. I put these topics to the side because I figured they were the only ones I scored better in compared to other candidates last exam. The first time I took the test I paid little attention to the DRS until the end because I figured it was a pretest SIM.

I took FAR today. Feel absolutely terrible coming out of it. It's my last section so now all I can do is sit and wait until score release 🙁 Would say I got medium, medium (maybe hard if I'm lucky), medium testlets. Left a sim blank, maybe got through 2 sims fully, hopefully answered the research correctly, and basically guessed on the other 3 sims including throwing in random choices for the DRS. Any optimistic views on this possibly being a passing attempt is welcome haha

@pass and get mo money I know it's hard but try not to stress yourself out. I took FAR June 10th and could not tell the difference between the testlets but I felt that I did fine with them. Then I got to the sims and wanted to cry. They were absolutely brutal, the research was easy but I guessed completely on 4 of the other sims. It was so bad I guessed on the journal entries and entered 0's as my answer as I had no clue what to even enter.

Needless to say I felt devastated that I failed my last exam because of sims. Then score release came and I got a 74 which was not surprising; I was actually more surprised I received such a high score. The biggest shock came when my score report showed I did weaker on one category of MCQ and was comparable on sims to passing scores. Here I thought I bombed sims and yet I was comparable in performance to passing scores.

I pitied myself for a day and then jumped right back into studying retook the exam July 26th where again the MCQ all felt the same. This time the sims felt much easier because of the topics and I scored an 80. Regardless if you pass or not just keep your head up and keep going. Stay motivated and you will soon be done with this torture test.

@H.Bonaventure Thanks for the pick me up! How did you study on your retake? Did you pin point your weak areas from the score report and slam MCQs or did you rewatch all the lectures, reread the readings, etc? I was considering purchasing like a final review course if I failed. Maybe like Roger Cram Course so I dont have to revisit all the material in CPAExcel

I pounded every section of NINJA MCQ regardless if I scored well in the score report. In addition I took notes and wrote out journal entries on key topics using a used Becker book I bought. Journal entries helped a lot with the sims on the second try. I never used lectures for studying since I didn't have the time or feel it would be helpful for me. Good luck!

Both times, I had the slightest feeling that I passed. First time, I finished ALL the SIMS and had like a couple of minutes to spare so I kept checking my answers.

Second time, I barely even finished the last SIM. I was literally plugging zeros at the 10 second mark. Even as I finished, I still felt that I did enough to BARELY pass. But I had a good margin.

So honestly, the feeling that you failed but pass instead is ALMOST arbitrary. Since I felt like that for BEC.

I have Far next week and I'm really struggling with what to review. I am using Becker and I feel like the MCQ are just so much math and nothing conceptual.
