    Hi all,

Just was wondering if anyone had had experience transferring to another office within EY (like NY —> CA)? And if so, how difficult (or easy) was it and how long does it take the transfer to be processed?

I’ve been at the company for nearly a year now and I have enjoyed my time here so far. But I am interested in transferring so as to be closer to family.

I'm actually curious about this too. I'm at EY NYC and I'd like to move back West to be closer to home. The hype of NYC is over for me….

What's wrong with NYC? Curious, do you guys live in tiny studio apartments? I would love to have a Big 4 opportunity in NYC.

Don't get me wrong, I worked my ass off to get this offer in NYC and I'm very thankful to be here. The opportunities here are endless and in my opinion, there's no better place to start a career than here in the Big Apple… but I never intended to stay here forever. I have a love-hate relationship with this City. The clients that I have been exposed to are incomparable to the client's that I would've worked on if I stayed in my home office back West. On top of that, it's just exciting to be in NYC!

As for your question… Big Four doesn't pay enough for you to even afford a studio here in Manhattan, no matter how small. I can't speak for Loyaldodgersfan, but this City is burning me out both mentally and financially – I still plan to stay here for 2 or 3 years, but I'm also looking forward to the day that I leave.
