It's real

Every single day as I’m doing mundane tasks I stop and say “but wait… you’re a f*****g CPA for real now” it’s so crazy thinking about how I studied for one year and after passing two I felt so far away still and I told myself “good work but no way you’ll never pass FAR”. I never, even while studying for it, actually thought it would happen.

I never thought I was smart enough, dedicated enough, or retained enough information to pass any of these exams. I really still don’t know how I did it.

There is actually no reason for this post, I just can’t believe I can say “I’m a CPA” and for the most part I get “Wow that’s impressive, I’ve heard that’s a tough process and a bunch of tests” and I feel amazing after hearing it. The other people I tell I’m a cpa who don’t respond like that say “oh, what is that?” 🙈

Anyway, I just wanted to say Hi and express how unbelievable it is when you’re finally done, and how worth it all of this is. If you have questions let me know 🙂

This feels like the realization I had one day after I bought my first house.
I walked from the bedroom to the living room and it just sort of hit me. This is your house!

I imagine the satisfaction of re-realizing you are now a CPA is very satisfying every time it crosses your mind.

    As for questions.
    What review course, and why?
(Paid for by your firm or you picked and paid yourself?)
    How many hours a week?
How many months to pass all 4?
    Any fails?
Were you working full time while studying?
How many years were you out of school when you started the exams?

Congrats! I got a new job after I received my CPA license and my compensation went up by 58%! It's nice to think that now I can afford nice things in life and don't have to think twice when a Chipotle staff says guacamole is an extra charge.

Yeah, CMG (Chipotle) and their “Mexican food”…. And how dare they charge for chips and salsa and guacamole. My first trip there was also my last. Well, one of two I think. Never to return. I hope their stock crashes so I can buy some of it really cheaply before it goes back up again. If it goes back up. They tend to have lots of problems with bacteria in their meat! lolz
I love real Mexican food, to be found only in Mexico. I wish I could get any here.

And yes…..it must be nice to be a CPA and earn whatever you want to earn. I hope I get there sometime. Congrats to anyone who manages to make it all the way to the finish line. Some of us have a much longer journey than others.

Sorry I'm still laughing a bit about the Chipotle…. Isn't that pretty much the food of seasoned accountants? My old boss went there constantly. Burrito and a beer for lunch…just one beer though. Or if not that, then an extra-large soft drink.
