I have 0 knowledge of FAR. I am taking the Aud exam next and have not taken the FAR exam and as I said I have 0 knowledge of FAR. Do you think I would have a hard time for the AUD Exam?

If you study AUD material, you should be fine. Many people have told me FAR overlaps with AUD, and I don't feel that is true

@utaustincpa – I took AUD first and agree with DTbird that there is little overlap with FAR. You can definitely pass just by thoroughly studying the AUD material, even if you have little to no FAR knowledge. Trust me, I was in the same boat as you and I passed on my first attempt. While I feel some FAR knowledge would have helped for some of the sims, it's not absolutely necessary if you're able to do really well on the MCQs.

Just came back from mine as well.

    MCQ1: medium
    MCQ2: hard
MCQ2: not sure but leaning towards the hard side as the questions were trickier like the 2nd set of MCQs.

Onto Reg now. Need to get these exams behind me so I can finally relax and enjoy life.

@Biggie62 What review program did you use?

    @everyone

do you guys think SIMS on the actual exam are harder than the review programs we use? I use Becker

    FAR:TBD
    REG:TBD
    AUD:TBD
    BEC:TBD

I am using Becker self study, ninja blitz and Wiley (I am using the paperback version of the testbank)

    Brief overview of study method:
    1. Skim through chapter quickly
    2. Watch lecture videos
    3. Take a lot of notes on what the lecturers emphasize
    4. Complete half HW after lectures half after rewriting notes

@Biggie62 any tips on using the AL feature? I am having a hard time using it. Seems like you have a good grasp on how to use it.

    Any tips would be appreciated

Won't let me now :/ Is it that serious though? It's not like I revealed any actual answers or the actual questions/wording.

Just finished Becker sections 1 and 2 for AUD and have until 4/14 for my exam. Think I can pass so long as I study through 6, and spend a day or two reviewing weak areas?

I work full time, but I think studying over the weekend and my nights from 6:30-midnight would be sufficient with me still getting enough rest.

Think that formula will work to help me pass AUD?

    AUD - 85
    BEC - 77
    FAR - 76
    REG - 77
    I. AM. DONE!

    FAR - (8/20) 70, (10/28) 72, (2/22) 76
    REG - (6/8) 69...
    BEC - (11/18) 77
    AUD - (4/14) 72...

    Maloney,

I am not familiar with Becker as I used Roger and Ninja MCQ.

I would hit every topic in your review course as soon as possible and then just crush MCQs until your test day.

    Good luck.

I used Roger and complimented with with Ninja MCQ back in January when I got a 65.

This time I used Roger lectures and some MCQs and supplemented it with Becker MCQs as my friend passed it and gave me access to his account until it expires.

In terms of tips on using the AL, which I learned from said friend, is to just know what you're looking for or associate what they are asking for for a particular section. So if a question asks about a specific report you can usually find a breakdown of that report in the AL which has all the necessary sentences and paragraphs. It's things like that. It's hard for me to give a straight answer without breaking the so-called rules. But I feel that usually 2 sims outside of the research will have questions where the AL could be used to help you come up with the right answer.

And to the question about Becker sims being on par or harder than the exam. My 1st exam I would say my sims on the exam were harder than what I saw on Ninja and Roger. I had friends who told me that I got royal fucked with the questions after discussing it with them post exam and it was true as my score reflected it. But this time around I really lucked out as I was only 50/50 on 1 of the 7 sims. The other 6 I either got 100 on or somewhere in the 80s.

@Biggie62 What did you do different this time around that made you feel better prepared as you seem as you were?

How were you better prepared for SIMS this time around?
