Just took BEC

    I’m kind of freaking out and trying not to. After reading everyone else’s posts, I was expecting a difficult exam. Unfortunately, I felt as if my testlets went easy, medium, medium (even though I didn’t think easy testlets existed, right?). I didn’t feel like any questions were out of left field either. The WC’s didn’t have anything FAR related so I couldn’t tell which one was a test question. Now I hate saying I feel pretty good and it felt somewhat easy because that scares me into thinking I failed. Can anyone calm me down or also share their experience?

    Maybe you understood the material and may be over thinking it.

    We all get different exams right.

    Was it heavy with computational questions? Everyone says IT is hard, maybe your good at that topic.

    best of luck

    Yes I had a good amount of computational, I'd say about 50%, and then the rest were split more along COSO and economics. I didn't get that many IT questions at all. I'm crossing my fingers that it's because I'm taking my exam in September, but I really don't know. Then all of my WC were fair, so any of them could have been the pretest.

    It's weird because in the past I've been able to gauge how I did. I have no idea for this one. I guess I'll just cross my fingers for the next 3 weeks.

    This irritates me. I also just took BEC and my 2nd testlet was as if I was taking an IT final exam. 3rd testlet also had numerous IT that no amount of studying would have prepared me for.

    My first testlet was normal. But the 2nd and to a lesser extent the 3rd were so frustrating because NO AMOUNT OF STUDYING WOULD HAVE HELPED. It was simply questions that were not in study material. Overall, I got roughly 20 IT questions, and numerous COSO that were impossible.

    Really frustrating that I got the ridiculous IT/COSO exam instead of the bec exam

    @circadian,

    I used Becker and then read a lot of this forum.

    @Ryan
    ,

    I'm sorry that sounds awful! I did have a lot of COSO, which got frustrating for me.

    That happened to me when I took AUD and I passed. I don't know if I will get that lucky for BEC because it's been very difficult to stay focused while studying for this test.

    I really cannot believe BEC is giving me such a hard time.

    @Ryan- I took BEC on Monday and had the same exam. I also had a FAR related WC that I had no clue how to answer. This was my second crack at BEC and there was nothing that could have prepared me for a good portion of this exam. Praying for a miracle on Friday.

    I think we had the same exam. 25-30 questions I read and was like.. WTF???. And yes I was very prepared, I just scored a 93 on audit. Bottom line was I just got the AICPA left field bec exam that I had heard horror stories about.

    AUD - 93
    BEC - 85

    I felt this way when I took BEC in July. I felt like it was “easy” (for lack of a better word) in comparison to FAR and AUD. Although, studying for BEC felt like it was a lot more difficult that FAR and AUD because of the random material and calculation and conceptual intensive subjects. Going into the exam I felt like I was doomed to fail. After the exam I was having a panic attack because I felt like something was absolutely wrong because the test was so “easy.”

    I ended up passing so I think you'll be just fine. Good luck!

    FAR - 76
    AUD - 74, 74
    BEC - 83
    REG - TBD
