Left the test center crying. I feel somewhat blindsided. I studied so much for this test and it felt harder than FAR which I passed last qtr with an 84. It was as if barely any of the basics were even touched on! Does anyone else feel this way who have taken it this quarter? I am so so upset. I thought I knew this shi*t. UGH.

What study materials did you use?

Yeah, what materials did you use? I had a similar feeling after taking BEC, but it was not so bad that I was crying and stuff. I felt there was one topic that was not covered that well in my prep compared to the amount that it was tested on the exam, but I am guessing that it was mostly pre-test because I passed with an 82 despite flagging 20 MCs and not completing one memo.

I hated everything about BEC and I'm glad I finally passed it on my third try. Don't beat yourself up over it. If you put in the time and effort, there's nothing else you can do. Sometimes we get unlucky and get exams that play to our weaknesses instead of our strengths. If a lot of the material seemed foreign to you, then that means whoever else taking your test was feeling the same way. Hopefully March 8th will bring good news for both of us 🙂

I used Becker. I am also probably being dramatic…but I feel like it was so skewed. Chapters that I studied for days and days had literally one question in the whole flipping thing.

I also felt blindsided by BEC. Getting hard multiple choice questions was discouraging at the time but looking back, I'm glad I didn't get three easy testlets. You probably did just fine but at this point, there's nothing to do except sit back, relax, and make sacrifice to the CPA exam gods.

I just took BEC as well. I used Becker. I thought I did well on the first testlet. All the other testlets seemed equally difficult (which seems weird because I'm pretty sure I got all on the first testlet). Becker touched on almost 100% of what I saw so I was very prepared.

I am curious to hear what you used. Especially since we probably just took a very similar test.

I felt the same way after taking BEC. I had taken FAR and AUD up to that point, and the feeling after BEC was way worse. I felt defeated and down. Ultimately, I thankfully passed. So, enjoy some rest and wait for the score release! Best of luck!

I felt the same way coming out of BEC. Ended up with a 75. My first pass on BEC I felt way better leaving prometric and only ended up with a 76. I think we tend to only remember the few we get wrong and forgot about how many we feel like we nailed.

Get Ninja MCQ and run through those. If you haven't already, its absolutely worth the price.

I remember beings shocked at just how much COSO was on the test… Mine must of mostly been pre-test questions because I don't think i got more than one or two right out of the 12 or so I saw yet still passed with an 80.

    I hate COSO…

Hey everyone! Just a friendly reminder that you cannot discuss the types of questions you had on your exam. This violates exam disclosure rules.

    Happy studying. 🙂

I didnt think we were in violation if we simply say that ” I hoped there were more variance overhead questions” right?

@JesseD To be fair that type of statement implies that the category mentioned wasn't heavily tested, which seems to violate disclosure. To be safe, I generally limit my exam discussion to the AICPA-provided percentages and that's it. I found them to be fairly accurate and people have to understand that every exam will be different and can vary in composition, so if person x had a higher % of category x, it doesn't mean that will hold true for anyone else.

Best of Luck! I didn't do well with Becker. Everyone is different, but I started using Ninja MCQ, Notes, & Audio and finally almost passed a section. I'm testing on March 10th and hoping for a pass!
