I just took FAR and I’m at a loss for words. This was my first exam taken. I felt confident about the first MCQs but half way through the second set I started panicking a little (they were way more difficult than the 1st. TBS are a toss up for me. I’m confident in about half of them I did. Has anyone passed feeling the same way? When I got out I felt bad. I called my wife and said I don’t know. Does everyone feel this way?

Harder 2nd MCQ testlet is indicative of a well answered first MCQ testlet. Sims are up in the air but if you're okay with half, then you probably passed. It's normal to feel overwhelmed and defeated. No test I have passed did I EVER say to myself, I passed it. Continue on with studying, that test is behind you now.

The question should be “has anyone came out of the CPA exam feeling confident and happy?” Don't sweat it bro, feeling devastated is just part of the process.

I agree with 12tang and TommyL. I've never felt confident coming out of a test. I always felt defeated and felt like it could have gone either way. I would just try not to think about it too much while waiting for the score release.

I just took the BEC section yesterday and it was the first exam I've taken. I definitely feel beat down and not confident about how I did especially since the second testlet of MCQs weren't more difficult than the first (easier maybe?). Hopefully I end up like a lot of folks who post on here that were never feeling good after taking a section but turned out okay in the end.

The short answer is yes. Pretty much everybody feels like they got hit by a truck after taking a section of the exam. Regardless of how we feel after the exam, we do not know how we did. Since the scoring of exams is top secret, confidential, Men in Black “flashy thing” level security, all we have is speculation. Try not to think about it. The farther I got from an exam I would have more doubts, but it was just my head playing with my anxiety. You can absolutely pass based on how you feel you did. But, nobody really knows until that score pops up on NASBA.

Nobody ever feels good about it. If your second testlet was harder than the first and you had a good idea of what was going on in half of the sims, I think you have a good shot.

Thank you for all of the encouragement. I just got my exam score back, and I made an 81! They have to curve the test or something.
