    Hey all,

Just got my NTS and I’ve been working ahead on my last MaCC semester in anticipation of studying early.

Is 7’ish weeks of mostly full-time studying generally enough for somebody without a good foundation? My undergrad was not in accounting so I feel like I kind of winged it during the pre-reqs and MaCC program.

If it’s not usually enough time, then I have no problems pushing it back until after that June blackout period, just wanted to see what the consensus was.

Depends how fast you grasp the information. From what i seen people been studying anywhere from 8-10 weeks for Far. Obviously everyone is different so start studying and see how it goes.

I was out of school for 15 years and my experience focuses on tax. I went for 10 weeks and 250 hours.
It's an interesting ride to re-learn all the things you forgot from school. 7 weeks full time would probably be enough, but depending on your focus and concentration levels you might not expect to get more than 5 or 6 good hours in a day before you brain doesn't accept anymore. 8-10 hours of focused concentration is probably unlikely.
Cumulative, cumulative, cumulative. One day a week be sure to hit up some cumulative quizzes so you don't forget the things from the early weeks. #1 biggest thing I would do over if I had to do it again.

You killed FAR after 10 weeks, nice work!

Thank you for the input everybody. I will schedule for June 10th, knock out the last big projects this week and get started studying on Monday.

Took me about 3.5 months first try for FAR and average of 3-5 hours a day. I couldn’t do more hours per day because I would just get brain fried. Failed first time with 71. Then second try took another 2 months I think and passed with 78. And I’m a really thorough reader. I read every sentence and did every mcq. Every person is different but these many months worked for me. There is SO much information to retain and become expert in. And I strongly believe you gotta feel you are an expert in this information to have a chance to pass. Good luck conquering this beast!:)

    BEC - 77
    FAR - 78
    REG - 87
