Do you ever listen to music while running through MCQ? The minute my lectures end I turn on music as I find that helps me get energized. I wonder if it affects my performance though. What do ya’ll typically do?

That's the only way I studied and I passed. So it worked.

Just curious cause I seem to focus better with instrumental than music with lyrics. Was wondering if you all were the same way.

    Thanks

Two Steps from Hell…..on loud. It cancels out all of the fluff and helps occupy my ADD while I actually answer questions.

I cannot listen to music with words while I study. It's too distracting. I bought a cd with something like 111 songs for studying, and it's all instrumental. I only use music when my house is loud and I keep getting distracted, but this cd has seemed to help bring my focus where it needs to be.

My husband listens to actual music with words. I don't know how he does it.

@Bluetoothray I pulled this up on YouTube to check it out since I hadn't heard of it. This is going to be amazing when my house gets really loud. I like it. Thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks for the replies. I might try studying without music to see if I can tell a difference in retention. Personally I'd rather listen to some GoldLink, Flume, etc. vs instrumental. The beat and bass gets me energized.

I can't listen to anything I like, especially with words, because it's distracting. I've been listening to classical, country (someone recommended something Rett), jazz, nature sounds, etc. I don't think it helps or hurts, just changes it up. It gets really boring to sit in an empty house all day…for two years.

I'd honestly listen to whatever. Dance, Pop, 80s, Christmas. Literally whatever.

I built a pretty impressive amount of Spotify playlists while studying for the exams. All music with words.

Lots of Metallica, which will forever remind me of this period of my life.

i listen to music when doing or reviewing MCQ. I usually listen to nine inch nails the fragile deviations. really cool version of the full album that strips out the vocals and only has the instrumental versions of all tracks. Very good music to get in the focused mindset. its like an hour and a half long straight through so perfect for a medium length MCQ session
