Hello everyone! I recently finished completed all four of my exams, the only thing is I still need 6 accounting credits. I enrolled in LSU Cost control and analysis and im preparing to take my first exam. If anyone has taken this class and has tips on how to best prepare for the exams, I would be very grateful to hear what you have to say. Thanks in advance and wish everyone the best of luck in this long journey

LSU Online courses were the hardest classes I took in college by a long shot. Due to my school being impacted, I thought that being proactive and taking classes at a different AACSB accredited school online would get me graduated faster. It did, but the work was extensive. Your homework only accounts for a small part of your grade. The exams (I took AIS, Audit, and Intermediate 2) are 50-100 multiple choice questions that seem to be ripped straight from the CPA exam. I studied a ton for all of them and passed nearly every class with a C, and Audit with a B-. For every test I had to use ProctorU (which I'm guessing you have to as well), and they were always a nightmare. You have to pay a fee to schedule EVERY test, and the people proctoring the exam always seem to be doing it for the first time. Also the fact that they watch you through your webcam for up to three hours can be a little uncomfortable. I would recommend you take an accounting class at a community college (unless your state board has different requirements, in CA it doesn't matter where you get the credits from as long as they're college level), unless you enjoy being challenged.

I only took one LSU online course, but my experience was different. I found Fraud Examination rather easy. I thankfully did not have to use ProctorU for it; the local CC was able to do so for free.

I will echo distaste for ProctorU, though. I had to use it for a different online college and it was absolutely a nightmare–every time. I'd be all set for my exam and they'd have some kind of glitch that would take 30 minutes to an hour for them to figure out. It was also hilarious that this person on the other end was proctoring my exams, but clearly was a very bored college student. It amazes me that this is an acceptable way to get a test proctored. If you've got any other proctoring options, even if they're more expensive, it's probably worth going elsewhere. I hated going into a difficult exam flustered from setting up technology.

I took all of the accounting coursework through LSU Online. The classes are tough overall with governmental accounting and fraud examination being a little easier. I never had a problem with ProctorU. They were very professional and I never had any issues in all 24+ times I tested through them. Cost accounting isn't as tough as it was before it was online only, but it's not nearly as tough as intermediate 1 and 2. As for preparation, read the text and do as many problems as you can, but only the multiple choice ones.
