No, I’m not giving up. But I stepped out of my (supposedly) last exam today. I truly thought it was the last time I needed to step in and out of a prometric center. I remember one very funny ninja told me that I would be like those astronauts who just completed a mission but it didn’t feel like that at all. It’s so hard.. I really thought I had done enough to understand REG. I finished all the SIMs in Roger and NINJA, even REDID the SIMs in NINJA for the ones I got incorrectly, (though no amount of SIMs would have prepared for the stuff they threw at you, lord, the SIMs today were out of this world)

I literally have no idea how I should even proceed. Besides the BLaw questions, I have done every question in NINJA and their SIMs and more. I’ve finished Roger’s AND redid stuff in there. How am I going to restudy for this section? Should I just suck it up and buy the Gleim testbank? Heard many good things and I feel like I should just swallow the cost.

I really thought the exam really broke me today. I understand that I should very grateful that I live near many prometric centers and that the one I’m chose is relatively close. But the 405 CANNOT survive a day (even a weekend) without an accident. Oh my lord, I was driving home and all I wanted was food but I had to sit through an hour’s traffic. I almost broke down crying because I was so sad that I had to take this section again… 🙁

No, dont buy Gleim just yet, sims are only extended mcq's imho. The consensus on this forum thus far has been that the Reg exam for Q4 has been bizarre and I will have to agree. I swore I did worse than when I got a 55 and I somehow got a 75. Just wait until score release then re-asses.

Hey I'm sorry to hear that. Few things

    1) Your first mistake was taking it during Q4, when exams are noticeably harder with more obscure mcq and sims, and when pass rates are being manipulated to keep a low yearly average pass rate.

    2) Do not buy gleim testbank, it won't do anything. You need to re assess what's going on here. You're pounding mcq and sims, but not reading enough. You need to READ and UNDERSTAND, not just blindly do mcq. Mcq is good to an extent, but it doesn't do anything after you've done so many. It's completely useless because you're unlikely to remember an obscure mcq you got and how to do it if you've done 6000 regular mcq. Reading and understanding concepts in the book is actually much more efficient and is the way to pass.

I got a 94 on REG and I only did becker mcq once and one final exam. The thing I did most was just read and learn. mcq was just a way to see if I knew the concepts. I didn't abuse them though. The guys getting high 90s are not pounding mcq, they just know the concepts.

@bigcore20, what happened to you w/ FAR? I understand the test sucks (my lowest score). Just curious, since you managed to smash BEC and Reg.

@mtaylo24 I took it again last Friday (the 2nd), we'll see what happens. Q4 FAR had bottom of the barrel type MCQ (far out of the spectrum questions), but sims were fair. It's definitely the worst exam overall (audit is most failed but there's other reasons for that). It was actually my first exam so I was still a noob at it, but I just ended up moving on to REG at that point. So I did the strategy I'm talking about in my previous post, hopefully it will pay off this time.

Took REG today as well. I feel like I would have been better off entering 0's in all the sims rather than coming up with the amounts I did. I don't believe anything could have prepared me for those sims.. At least in other exams I felt like I aced one or two. I feel like I missed every single one including the research. I think I got the section right..lol

    I hear you!!
Just had a brutal experience with AUD today, driving home hungry and very thirsty, accident on a hwy and construction on 2 others where they were blocking 3 lanes of the 4 ……I can't tell how long it took to get home, all I know I was driving like a Zombie thinking what else should've studied.

Anyways I really hope you get at least the magic 75 and get to the finish line.

@bigcore20, I re-sat yesterday for FAR. Guess what? I didn't smash MCQs on Monday, I read the entire book, reading along to the audios, that day. I also found the ninja notes and wiley focus notes helpful. I was concerned because thats not what I'm used to, but it may have earned me a few points. Good luck next Friday.

@mtaylo24 – Well how do you think it went? Did you also get some obscure mcq's? Good on you for reading and trying to learn. Eventually you have to change it up a bit, pounding mcq is a false narrative and doesn't help because you aren't learning anything new most of the time. Actual exam questions test the root of the concepts, and you're highly likely to forget the answer to that random mcq that you did a few days prior. Good luck as well

^^^^^We will see, you never know w/ these exams…I could have used an extra week or two (or 3) but i was under the gun. I recognized many questions between Ninja and Gleim, but that doesnt mean that I got them right. I hit review phase about 2 weeks ago in Ninja and still was missing all sorts of questions, so I had to switch gears and do something different. After my Q4 Reg exam, i knew doing only MCQs wasn't going to cut it.

    @bigcore20

I don't think it's the test. I think it's me. I do believe that SOME luck has to do with these exams but I don't rely on it. I've studied very hard for BEC and AUD, which I've managed to pass in the Q4. I'll make sure to restudy just as hard and conquer both tax and BLaw but yeah, I mean, I do think they curve it. But I'm not really into those conspiracy theories.

@hasy – Well, they're becoming less and less known as conspiracy theories and more known as reality, as more insiders leak information. I'm not saying you can't pass in Q4, but you will arguably have a much better shot at passing in Q2 or Q3. You'll get REG eventually, you need to emulate what you did for AUD

I felt extremely defeated walking out of REG. I had 30 minutes left to review, but I was so frustrated I just ended the exam curing under my breath. I struggled so badly on those sims. I don't think anyone walks out saying “nailed it”.

I've only done MCQ for 3 exams and felt fully prepared. I read explanations every time, and use google on any uncertain areas.
