Hey guys, so I just got offered a job at a mid tier firm. My background check is underway and I gave my notice at my big 4 firm.

I dont have anything on my record and was 100% honest with my work history ect. However, I worked at a bar in college and I highly doubt they will be able to get in contact with the owner because theres no website/info on the owner on the internet that i know of. What happens if they cant verify that i worked there? Will they withdraw my offer if they cant?

    No.

First, The bar tending job is not relevant to your position with them.

And second, we don't live in a perfect world where literally EVERYTHING can be verified. As long as everything else checks out you should be just fine.

Congrats @cantpassagain1 on your job offer, bold move by trying to switch during busy season. I don't think they'll dive into that deep.

Wish you the very best in your new job.

I cannot imagine any scenario in a million years where they would check your B4 references/experience and then feel the need to validate your experience working at a bar. Honestly, not sure why the bar would even be listed on your resume if you already have other relevant experience.

It would not necessarily be on OP's resume, however, when I was leaving Big 4 the company I went to wanted me to list the places I had worked in the last 10 years. The verified the dates of employment. One the places was an agency and they had me listed as an active employee. They had me follow up with the agency and I asked them to send in my W2s. That was how they verified the dates that I worked there.

I think you will be fine.

The fact that you even put bar tending experience on a resume AFTER you've worked at Big 4 is by itself, astonishing. The fact that you're worrying about your new employer verifying that experience is hilarious. Good luck navigating the rest of your career. Sheesh
