PS:I make a similar post after every exam.

My experience today was quite sadening.

First test let of MCQ’s was ok; knew some and didn’t know some, but overall, doable.

Then came second test let with crazy and tough MCQ questions, marked over 10 out of the 33 and had to guess to move on.

But I made sure I managed my time well. Completed the MCQ’s and still had 2 hours 45 mins.

Then came test let 3, first Sim test let, with the research and an easy sim and I had hope of a pass!

That hope quickly vanished when I saw test let 4, second sim test let and test let 5, third sim test let. The 6 sims were mostly guesses.

Do I have a chance any chance? Probably not 🙁

I had this assumption that if you have time then SIMs are doable .Can you say some thing more without violation how you tripped even though you had 2.45 Hours.
Have you appeared FAR in old format ? It is clear you managed time very well in MCQ. Govt/NFP ,calculations ,long questions what killed your hope ,just anxious .

@wannaFree I thought you already took the FAR exam.

SIMs will be doable if they are clear with the instructions. I was not sure what they wanted me to do 🙁

First time taking FAR. The 6 other sims killed my hope.

Why do you think it was a disaster. There is still hope

Pretty much the same exact experience I had when I took in Q2. What scares me the most is that I do not know what I would do differently if I have to retake in Q3. Did you feel like you were guessing on most of the sims?

@SallyCPA,that was the exact question came to my mind after 3rd test-let.Some people are nice and tell me that I should be hopeful but getting 75 in FAR would be like Obama got Nobel Piece prize in 2008.LOL
“what I would do differently” is real difficult question. What I am doing differently this time is measuring the time in seconds while practicing as if I would run in Olympic.
SIM ,still holding on to my belief that 2.30 Hrs of time for SIM will allow me to get 75.
One silver lining I see and that's why I come to this forum so frequently .People are doing better in Q3 than Q2 (FAR ) and rest we will know after 17 how they are scoring.

Do you think they are using Q3 exams along with Q2 exams to base the weight on MC / Sims for Q2 scores?

I think you still have hope. It's possible. I had a similar experience in Q2 with REG…still waiting on my score…but I did every single MCQ possible and studied full-time for 3 months. I passed AUD and BEC within 2 months with my same studying method, but after all that studying, REG was a tough exam. I think it's one of the more heavily “curved” exams though.

I am curious though how much preparation would you say you put into this exam? What course did you use and how much did you study?

I kinda feel a bit cheated out of these review courses because they don't really prepare you well enough for the new SIMs which is now 50% of your score.

One thing is clear it's not easy ,we were given only 4 hours and they are taking 4 and half month to evaluate. If it was difficult for us to get 75 ,it is more difficult for them to give us 75.LOL

@jordan.davis ,Obama acknowledged it ( surprised how he got it) but didn't return the prize and same way IF I get 75 I wouldn't return it .LOL

I know it is hard, but try not to focus on it too much. When I took FAR, I was certain I made around a 50. And since this was back when release scores wasn't as unreasonable as it is now, I only had one week until I got my score, I came back home from the exam and started studying and did 150 MCQ per day because I was that certain I failed. When I opened my score and it was an 86, to say I was shocked would be a complete understatement. I didn't even feel good about the MCQ, let alone the sims.
