    Hi All,

I am starting my Journey to get my CPA in California. I will log my experience throughout this Journey. I am hoping this will keep me focus and motivated during the hard times.

    Some background.

I am a 54 year old. I have been in the accounting field since I was 19 years old. I started out as an A/P clerk and moved up the corporate ladder to Controller. I never needed to get my CPA before to get jobs, but now, I realized that I should have gotten the CPA a long-time ago. I read other people’s post on this forum wondering if they should get their CPA or if they do taxes just get a EA. I am telling you now. Get the CPA now. Don’t wait until your my age.

    Study Materials:

    Becker

    First Test I am taking:

Reg -Test is schedule for Oct 3nd.

I will be updating every week.

Here I go with Chapter 1 -Individual taxation.

Feel pretty understand, I havent taken it at school. After few years experiences, I am taking it now. I feel my memory is not as good as young age. I'm about 30+ and struggle on study as well.

Have good faith in yourself on the way of studying CPA exams😄

Is there a reason why you feel now you need your CPA? Most companies i noticed care about experience and not necessarily if you have your CPA license. Many are also okay with EA .
