I’m filling out the application and in one of the parts they are asking me to enter my employment history. I don’t wanna list my employment history since it’s not accounting related. Will i have a problem if I leave it blank and skip it?

i dont have accounting related experiences. you should report honestly. employment history is not a requirement for you to sit for exams

I am not a traditional accountant – communications major with 10 years work experience in that before I went back to school for accounting. For NASBA I filled out all my employment history as it existed – all of it.

When I applied for my license in my state and was filling out the paperwork I called the state board. My state board told me they ONLY wanted my accounting experience as it counted for the license.

I'd recommend you list all experience to NASBA and then ask for directions from your state when it comes time for the licensing.

Small world @Kimberly. I'm a print journalism major, class of 2004 from Hofstra University (long island, my). I went back to school in 2009 because of my top notch debt, I mean education.

@Mike030882 – It is a small world! I wish they offered even one accounting class in my high school or 1st undergrad. I'm very structure (actually like repetition), and I think I would have been drawn to it sooner had I gotten to experience it. But I only took my 1-2 business requirements at my NJ college, and never thought anything of it until MANY years later when I'm staring at brushed and satin nickel finishes at my buying job and asking what I am doing with my life. 🙂

It's funny because I started as a Computer Science major. I switched to Print Journalism bc the math was intense and I love writing and research.

I didn't chose Accounting in 2002 because I thought it was more math intensive. Little did I know that it only involves basic arithmetic and setting up relationships to solve for X. Calc 2 AND Discrete 2 at 8 am and 1030 is scary!
