I had a horrible experience with NASBA international evaluation service. I wonder if I just had a bad luck or their service need to be improved. I first called before I filled out online application. I was told to pick the $200 service. Later they told me I need to pay $300 to evaluate both international and US transcript and I can send a check. I called for the third time to check my status. The third representative told me that they don’t accept checks and I should have picked the $200 service because I only want evaluation for GA license not for 3 recommended states. By the way, I had to call every time I sent something to them because they kept losing my stuff. It turned out that they have created two separate files under my name (one name was typed wrong). Anyway, after many time phone calls they finally got all the documents. It took 4 weeks for NASBA to complete my preliminary report. It shows total credit hours I have for accounting and business. I emailed the evaluator that why I only have 147 credits ( I had two undergraduate degrees and a MBA). He told me that they don’t evaluate US transcript, which was the opposite case the previous three representatives told me. After another 10 days as yesterday, I got the final evaluation back. The report shows credit hours for each accounting and business course. One of the school credit hours were converted wrong. I went to a four University with total 120 credits (20 Canadian school credits), so each 1 Canadian credit equal to 6 US credit hours. The conversion calculations was printed on back of the official transcript. For two Canadian schools, I should have about 190 credit hours. I immediately emailed the evaluator attached with conversion calculation. NIES told me that they have already sent out the final evaluation to GA board of Accountancy…… Did anyone have to appeal their evaluation and how long would it take?

Hi, I'm having the same issues. Terrible experience and wrong evaluation. What did you do to appeal the evaluation?

Hi. Thanks for the NASBA International Evaluation Service experience information. The last time I had my transcripts evaluated was in 1997 by Foreign Academic Credential Services (FACS), for Washington State Board of Accountancy (WSBA). During that time my 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (major in Accounting) was considered equivalent to a university degree in the USA. So, when I started taking exams in 1998, at least twice (8 sections/year-June/Nov) and passed BLaw in 1999, I was given a grandfathered status in 2000 in WSBA. Since then, I kept taking 1-8 sections per year to keep my grandfathered status. But then, lately, I was thinking ahead, just in case I will consider licensing in another state in the future. Most of these states require 150hrs credits and my WSBA grandfathered status might not work in a particular state. So far, I have more than enough 150hrs credits for the US CPA credential, since I went back to school to complete my Canadian CPA educational requirement at the same time being a grandfathered US CPA Exam candidate. In my 2018 transcripts evaluation, the Canadian/US World Evaluation Services (WES) had given me 89.5 credits out of 120 credits for my 1985 BSCommerce (major in accounting). Without waiting until I officially request for current transcript evaluation, and pay for an evaluation fee to NIES, I decided to finish my current BBA-Accounting program and concentrate on reviewing/passing those expired passed US CPA exam sections. Probably, find work after graduation, and do my Canadian CPA designation on a part-time basis. Anyway, thanks again for the information.
