My application has had On Hold status for a little over 6 weeks now and I haven’t received a NTS. I’m truing to sit for FAR in July and it’s getting down to the wire now. I’ve called NASBA and all they could do was tell me to email the coordinator for my state, which I did. I haven’t heard back yet, it’s only been 24 hours and they told me to wait 48 hours for a response.

I know I have all the necessary credit hours, my university had a special program for accounting majors so they had all of hours and coursework necessary to sit. My transcripts were sent in, one of them took MONTHS to get there because my first college kept losing the paperwork I filled out to have a transcript sent and just all kinds of nonsense so I was expecting it to be a while but it’s over the 6 weeks that it should have been by now.

Has anyone else had this problem? How was it resolved?

I remember I applied in Mid-January in Pennsylvania and it took them forever (it was like 8 weeks). I'm sure every state is really busy due to the recent spring graduates.

I would recommend calling and emailing them every day. That's what I did and it helped move my application through. You have to remember they don't care where your application is at because they have a stacks on stacks of them so the more you bug them and keep asking them about your application, the more they want to review yours and get you off their back. That's how I looked at it lol

I haven't looked at it that way. I guess I'll have to do that. I hate to pester people but I work for a small company and my boss is in my office every day and texting me on the weekends to see if I've heard back yet. I don't think Missouri is a popular state for accountants though, there are always tons of accounting jobs here and people are desperate to hire us so I don't think there's just massive amounts of applications bombarding them lol

Yeah pestering can be annoying haha but hey how I look at it is if you want something then go and get it especially if it's as important as the CPA.

Just got the email back from my state coordinator. NTS should arrive via email in 3-4 business days. I don't know whether to be terrified about how unprepared I am or to be relieved that I finally have an answer for my boss. Time to get down to business I guess.
