    NINJA Question –

I’m sitting for BEC next Thursday and have completed all of Roger’s questions and lectures. I’m supplementing that with Ninja MCQs and it’s kicking my butt, for lack of better term. I thought I was doing okay after Roger but in Ninja I’ve been trending ~64 for days. Have done around 550 questions so far. Did anyone else feel that Ninja’s difficulty level for BEC was high? I want to be sure that I’m on the right track and not missing core concepts days before the exam.

I am right there with you. I have taken the three other exams so far and haven't felt like this on any of them. I don't know if I am getting burnt out or what, but it's been a struggle to say the least. I'm glad I am not the only one, because all I hear people talking about is how BEC is the easiest one.

I only have REG to compare it to, but I found that studying for that one was tolerable. Maybe it's because I enjoy tax and that's why the flow of the content was making sense. With BEC, I don't have an interest in any of the topics and it's all over the place it seems. I'm definitely not finding this one to be “easiest” either. Happy to know I'm not alone, good luck to you!

Ninja is brutal after you think you have already done your review course, but it works! Do all of the questions once, so only pick new questions until you get them all done. Your average is going to probably stink but then you do the ones missed last time seen and then do random ones, and you will feel so much better prepared than just with your main course!

My first test was BEC and I thought Rogers was too easy which is why I added the Ninja MCQ. There was a pretty noticeable difference to me between the difficulty of Ninja and Rogers which is why I abandoned the Rogers MCQ my next three test. Do you know what you were scoring in Rogers? I think my scores dropped by probably 10% when I switched but I only ever do new questions. If you weren't doing only new questions with Rogers than it wouldn't surprise me at all if your scores dropped by more than that.

You still have plenty of time till your test. I would go back and do a quick review on the sections you're struggling with and then start up the MCQ again. I was trending 55 % in FAR 5 days before my test so I took 3 days off from MCQ and did a review on my 3 worst sections. I wound up getting my trending score up over 70% before I took my test.

@anyatver – I'm already feeling better about some topics, like financial management, using Ninja. I've started picking the new ones too because my perfectionist self doesn't want to leave out any missed questions. I kind of like that Ninja's questions are difficult, fingers crossed it'll make the exam go smoother!

@CPAcandidate3 – Yes, I agree with you. Roger's BEC program seemed almost rushed to me. I love his videos, but really happy I decided to supplement the material. I don't know what I was averaging because I would answer the question until I got the right answer. Then write down why I got it wrong from the explanation. So technically Roger showed an “100% correct” every time. Based on your FAR score, it showed that plan worked out well for you! Thanks for the advice!

NINJA MCQ for BEC is notoriously brutal – many threads about it … it all works out in the end, though 🙂

@jeff – Brutal is a good term for them… as always thanks Jeff! Hopefully I'll be thanking you again on Sept 19 for two of the four exams 🙂

BEC is a mini-FAR. Not as difficult but it's in the spectrum. The good news is that Ninja prepared me for BEC.

Look for the hockey stick in the learning curve. My subscription ran out so I can't see how many questions I did but it was in the range of 700. Quality not quantity – work on problem areas until they're ironed out.

It's ok-it's better to be beat up in practice than on the actual test. Ninja has been a wonderful supplement to all the sections I have taken. Keep going!

Taking BEC tomorrow (first one) and also am glad I found this. Wish I took this right after college! I'm pretty sure I took an entire class on Cost Accounting which is 1/5 of this exam!

I can't relate to BEC, but I'm using Ninja MCQs for FAR with Becker being my primary review materials. I'm averaging about anywhere from 88-91% on Becker progress tests in sets of 33 MCQs, but, on Ninja MCQs, I have:

    Average Score: 81%
    Average Trending Score: 81.40%
    Total Questions Attempts: 1498

So it's not just BEC 🙂

    I attest.

So I was doing nothing but ninja mcq for 2 weeks or so before my exam date, and those questions were just shredding me day by day. Especially those god-awful IT questions I mean lord have mercy…

Anyway, come exam day I'm thinking to myself ninja mcq were hard as hell so hopefully the actual exam feels easier… and that was exactly what happened. I'm so afraid to even say that because I don't wanna curse myself but that's truly how I felt. I've gone through a ton of becker prior to this (my 3rd shot at BEC) so I do have some retained knowledge from those lectures, but nonetheless my point is the ninja questions are an excellent preparation tool. If you can bear those (I was barely trending 69%), then I'd say keep that confidence high up until exam day.
