    NINJA Question –

    Being that so many folks have eluded to the IT questions on the BEC exam being so out of left field, what is everyone’s opinion on NINJA MCQs in this area? Do they adequately cover what I need to know, or like with other study materials, are they lacking? If they are lacking, any suggestions on where to go, to review other questions which will help on the test?

    What do they call an accounting person, who only managed a 75 on all four parts of the CPA exam....you got it, CPA!!!

    BEC (2/28/16) ----- 78
    FAR (09/10/16)-----
    AUD
    REG

    CIA, CGAP, CFE

    May get more relevant feedback after results on 8/22. Meanwhile, as a comparison – for the fringe IT questions – Becker didn't have any remotely similar questions either. IT changes constantly and the examiners are thinking of evil and twisted ways to make sure people keep up to date.

    AUD - 77
    BEC - 81
    FAR - 77
    REG - 81
    REG - 1. Becker only - fail (forgot to study depr - oops); 2. Becker only - Pass
    FAR - 1. Becker only - fail; 2. added Ninja Notes and MCQ - Pass
    AUD - 1. Becker videos; Ninja Notes, Audio, MCQ, Becker Notes - Pass
    BEC - 1. Ninja Notes, Audio, MCQ, Becker Notes - Pass

    @M123:

    Thanks. It will be interesting to get answers from the NINJA folks, after scores are released. I took BEC before and barely passed (expiring, because I got lazy), but GLEIM sure didn't prepare me for the ones I saw. I checked some of my answers afterwards, and I made some good educated choices, but it sure wasn't because I had seen the bizarre tested info while studying.

    Good luck getting any details from anyone on this forum about content/ or even a slight hint of what is to be on the exam. There are some people who just “are too much by the book” . If you want real details about the exam you have to work at a CPA firm where your peers are taking the exam and bug them about specific details.

    One time I was scheduled to take BEC and I was in the lobby sitting on the sofas of the building (10 story office building) of Prometric going over my flash cards before the exam as I got in early. I overheard 4 women (obviously friends) talk about their FAR exam they just took/finished. If I had taken FAR that day (which I didn't) and sat their and listened the whole time I would have gotten at least 5 questions worth of info just overhearing their conversation. Not saying it is right and obviously a violation of rules, but my point is don't expect much out of this forum as for details.

    I have taken BEC twice and both exams were VERY IT heavy. both times I got a 74. In one instance I got 3 questions in a row on IT. I used WIley test bank, Wiley regular MCQ's , and out of like 12-13 IT questions on the exam, 1 was similar to my review materials. Unless your an IT person or have a degree in it and recently graduated a candidate is really screwed . the questions on IT are just totally left field

    AUD - 84
    BEC - 81
    FAR - NINJA in Training
    REG - 75
    AUD - 84

    BEC-  81

    REG-75

    FAR- TBD

    @shawn:

    I think my question was very general, and not too specific. It's no secret that there are IT questions on the exam, so I was merely asking for a suggestion on additional study aids, if everyone feels that the study programs themselves, are not enough. Can't see where that violates disclosure rules.

    I had a friend who used becker, ninja mcq and roger audio, and she told me that the “left field” IT questions weren't covered by ANY of the reviews… unfortunately, I think one just has to make their best guesses

    Becker for all

    AUD - 87 (Q2 2017)
    FAR - 97 (Q3 2017)
    REG - 95 (Q3 2017)
    BEC - 98 (Q3 2017)
