I am only using NINJA study materials: the 10 Point Combo. I utilized almost everything for BEC – which I passed; however, (no offense to Jeff) I feel like the most helpful tool was the Bisk/NINJA Plus videos (and the MCQ). So, when studying for FAR, I have pretty much only used the NINJA Audio and the NINJA Plus videos to date. My concern is that due to the age of the videos that I might be missing out on changes to the material. I know it’s a ton of information, but does anyone know of anything in the videos that is wrong/outdated? Obviously, there aren’t too many people out there that would both A) have watched the Bisk Videos in their entirety, and B) be an “expert” on what is “right” based on some other materials – but any little piece of dated information would be helpful. I am only concerned with FAR right now. Thank you!
Fresh or not I’m using them. The videos give me a quick, verbal summary on calculations.
Well, 21 hours left… I guess I, too, will solely rely on Bisk Videos – fresh or not – and MCQ.
I’m doing the exact same thing. Initially I read the ninja text and then went on to the MCQ. I was trending in the high 50s low 60s. I stopped doing MCQ and went through the bisk videos and when I returned to MCQ I quickly started trending in the high 70s. I noticed that Bob mentions extraordinary items a few times in the videos, that was really the only thing.
Here is another little one: Deferred Tax Assets and Liabilities are ALL classified as NON-Current. Presumably an effort to converge with IFRS.
When the video say “know this” I write it down. I was tossed should I keep going or should I just do the mcq’s but I think I’m going to keep doing both. (mcq trending low). 25 days til testing….so much anxiety, Oh Lord my nerves.
Wherever possible Bob stressed journal entries. That’s what I loved about it–it’s easier to setup an algebraic formula w accounts and solve for X rather than to mainly rely on memory gimmicks (ahem Becker).
