NJ CPA License Application Timing

I submitted my NJ CPA License Application on 4/18/16. I received an email two weeks later asking a clarification question which I was able to answer immediately. I have followed up a few times since then. The first two calls I was told they were waiting on my criminal history to come back. The last time I called they said they had everything they needed but the application needed to be reviewed by the board and there were a few applications ahead of mine.

How long has this process taken for others? I am so sick of waiting!

It could take between 6-8 weeks. I remember I had to wait that long. Should receive an email next week, if not I would give them a call and then you will get an email after that.

    Hi everyone,

So I found out the board received my background check on Dec. 14th. The executive director was not around the last of December (understandable) so should I be expecting some update at early Feb the earliest?

Also, do they approve the applications in bundles or is it at a snail's pace (one by one)?

Has anyone been notified this month they were licensed?

In the meantime, I'll just patiently wait.

    Waiting in PA 🙁

Applied December 8. Keep in mind, it's also renewal season…and I think they jump to the head of the line.

    AUD - 96
    BEC - 84
    FAR - 89
    REG - 86
    Aaron and always remember, YMMV

I profit from your CPE frustration. You're welcome.
