It used to be about 3 months. Anyone know if that’s changed? Thanks!

Yes, very much so. I can believe that they should be able to process applications faster now with 3 month gaps for candidates to receive their grades leaving more time for NYS to catch until the next batch of applications. Also how would candidates apply in July if they wouldn't receive their final passing grades (2nd Quarter) until August? Sounds like they just sent out an generic e-mail to you.

I am going to be optimistic and hope we will be licensed in 2017.

I just want it to be over already!!! lol

@cleethree I don't think that people receiving their grades & submitting applications always line up. People can pass their exams and not apply for years (need credits, experience, etc.) Hoping for your sake that they do catch up though!

@MC True, you do bring up a good point. I'm just trying to look for any reason for them to speed up this process lol.

@lexus423 So I called NYS and they told me that they did a preliminary review of my application and that the NYS board will most likely review my application late November/early December. The board is currently reviewing August application.

Hopefully this is accurate and we can get our licenses before year end.

cleethree, the information you stated about the board reviewing August applications now seems to be correct. One of my colleagues sent in his paperwork in August and was recently licensed on the 8th of November.

Just wanted to let you know the information you received when you called appears to be accurate and they are not just telling you BS to get you off the phone.

@Pork Flavored Bacon, Thank you very much for confirming that the information I stated was correct. It definitely seems with the gap in CPA exam score releases, NYS are processing applications at a much faster rate.

The NYS rep said there was a slight issued with the Form 4B my boss sent in, but my boss is going to send in a letter that should clarify it and allow me application to fully go through.

    Thanks again.

@cleethree That is great news about the timing. Just an FYI , you should have your supervisor email them about the 4b if they will allow it. I had my two former managers email the 4b in addition to mailing..

@lexus423, The rep told me that I should just mail in the letter and revised Form 4B for now because he expect they will send my supervisor an e-mail once the board reviews it. He said sending it in now will beat them to the punch and quickly resolve the issue.

It took PwC six months and 52 emails to send my 4B application. On November 3, 2017, the State Board has finally received it. I called them last week. They told me it is going to take few more weeks to process my 4 B form and then they are going to send it to the Department of Education. When I ask the representation how long does Education Department takes time to process, she told me 16 WEEKS. Can't wait to get my license:(

    Damn, that's pretty bad.
And who says the Big4 don't care about their people….?
6 months for a 4B, I would quit as soon as I got my license. Start looking now.

@bliznec6968 that is crazy – 6 months!?!. I work for PwC too and they sent my 4B in April very quickly, within a week or 2. I sent in the rest of my application a bit later and everything was received end of June. I got my license almost exactly 16 weeks after it was “sent to the Board”. It's a brutal wait…good luck
