@DCA33 any word on your application? You were in between the 3/29 and 4/7 dates.
Unusual that you would be skipped over.August 10, 2017 at 11:58 am #1597754DCA33Participant
Heard from them yesterday. All was fine w/ my application except the supervisor that signed off had some small clerical error in renewing his registration during my employment (unknown to him at the time), thus deeming my form 4b effectively void. Another senior guy has agreed to fill out the form and re-submit, just have to wait for him to get back from vacation. Trying to stay positive in this whole thing, though the inefficiency of the NY process is truly baffling, but that is a conversation to have post-receipt of my certificate. To add to this, immediately after getting 365 days of experience (On day 366 actually) I switched into investment banking, so its pretty crucial this works out.
Sorry for the lack of update … been having to compose a lot of emails to old bosses.August 10, 2017 at 1:51 pm #1597911PhoxhunterParticipant
This makes me sad to think how long it's taking because I was told my information was sent to the NYS Board on June 1st.August 15, 2017 at 12:14 pm #1600427
As of Friday 8/11 they were on applications that went before the board on 4/12.
Still no word, 2 days out from 18 weeks.August 16, 2017 at 12:32 pm #1601312se98Participant
So last week I got the e-mail about my experience “issue”. My supervisor sent the new form on Wednesday and I also replied to the e-mail asking why I was being evaluated under the 120 hour rule when I believe I now qualify under the 150 and checked that box on my application. I have heard nothing back now in a week. How long is reasonable to wait before reaching out again? I just want this saga to be over.August 16, 2017 at 2:12 pm #1601454
If the form was mailed on Wednesday it was probably delivered by to the building by Friday and maybe it made it to their office by Monday, unless you did overnight.
I might give it until Friday. This whole process is incredibly painful.
I'm baffled how they could be on 4/12 last Friday but I still have not heard any news. So it goes…. and we wait…. and wait…August 18, 2017 at 11:40 am #1605086
I called again on 8/17 (18 weeks). My file had to be sent to another unit to verify my supervisor's registration to ensure no lapses over the 15 year period.
The CPA Unit's records don't go back that far. They suggested I wait a couple more weeks and then call again if I had not heard anything.
They don't process many 15 year pathways, so they are not really sure how long the review could take.
They are always nice and try to be as helpful as possible. So it goes.August 20, 2017 at 9:45 am #1606397MOACParticipant
does anyone know NYS application center email address?August 21, 2017 at 3:39 pm #1608993August 21, 2017 at 4:42 pm #1609014AnonymousInactive
Good afternoon everyone,
I received my final passing score for AUD last week Thursday. I had sent my initial transcripts to NASBA in January 2015 and I was missing 5 credit hours. This summer, I completed 6 credit hours and sent over to NASBA last Wednesday (a day before I got my last passing score for AUD). Now, I am waiting for NASBA to update my transcript and send to the NYS Board. My question is, should I start getting my licensing application together including asking my boss to sign on experience? Sorry to ask this question, but I have nobody else to ask 🙂
Thank you guys much!August 21, 2017 at 4:53 pm #1609023
I would recommend sending it in as soon as possible.
The board is currently running 14-16 weeks, so even if it takes NASBA 2 months to process and forward, at least your file will already be in line.August 22, 2017 at 9:04 am #1609688vata20Participant
It will be 19 weeks (on Thursday) since the board received my application. I got word from them yesterday (only because I called) that it has been approved and I should receive my license within 2 weeks. It's definitely a long process in New York State.August 22, 2017 at 9:23 am #1609721AnonymousInactive
@ReckedRacing Thank you so much! I am going to start the process as soon as possible.August 23, 2017 at 3:28 pm #1614210jess050190Participant
I emailed the board today for an update on my application. They are reviewing applications received by the board on 4/24/2017.August 28, 2017 at 4:35 pm #1617123
19 weeks and 4 days!!
Received an e-mail from NASBA that NYS has approved me to sit for the exams!!August 31, 2017 at 9:30 am #1618579se98Participant
This morning I got an e-mail that the board had approved everything for me to be a CPA and that another unit would be processing to assign me a license number and send me the license. So close I can taste it (reminder, my application went to the board on March 29!). I wonder how long it will take to get the license # now. I'm checking online every day.August 31, 2017 at 10:06 am #1618595AnonymousInactive
@se98 Oh my God – 5 months!! That's crazy! I was hoping to get licensed by December this year. This is so unfair after all we go through with the exams and the education requirements.September 9, 2017 at 3:45 pm #1622920AnonymousInactive
So I completed the application and submitted the fees. The NY coordinator approved my 150 credits and submitted to the board. Now, my boss is taking a long time to sign the experience verification. I have been asking for 2 weeks and there is a different excuse every time. I really do not want to pressure, but for some weird reason, we are going into the 3rd week of me asking for this signature… After studying passing and failing and passing again, I really would like to get this over with. I wonder why is this taking my boss so long??September 9, 2017 at 4:01 pm #1622923
I am not sure if you work in tax, but perhaps the September 15th deadline for corps and partnerships is taking up his time.
I am not sure how I would handle this if I were in your shoes, except to fill out the form with all relevant information except the signature, and go in his office with the form in hand and ask him to review and sign it. Tread lightly.September 9, 2017 at 10:17 pm #1622999RadezParticipant
Congrats on getting the approval, Recked. Must be nice to have moved on to the next phase. Good luck with studying/exam performance!September 11, 2017 at 9:41 am #1623491AnonymousInactive
Thank you for the support. I filled in the application with all relevant info. I even looked up his license number online because that was one of the excuses he gave me. But, since I gave the almost fully completed application, it has been dark silence. I work for a non-profit org., so I know its not like he has a huge amount of work to do. The annual audit started today and I wonder if he thinks I am going to quit once he signs it. I am not going to quit once he signs it, but the fact that he is delaying this entire process for no apparent reason makes me want to quit.September 11, 2017 at 10:43 am #1623586NYS-takes-too-LONGParticipant
My form 4B was scanned on 8/24/17. I was advised over the phone that it would take 4-6 weeks for the board to review. I'm glad I checked here as it seems I'm in for a much longer wait time. Looks like about 125 day lag, which is terrible. The home stretch just got a lot longer.September 11, 2017 at 11:02 am #1623593AnonymousInactive
Can this application be scanned? I through it was through mail only. Did yo scan it to the NYS Board? If so, could you please share the info for the scanning?
Many thanks!!September 11, 2017 at 12:31 pm #1623668NYS-takes-too-LONGParticipant
I mailed my form in. They scan it into their system once received. Sorry for any confusion.September 11, 2017 at 12:32 pm #1623671AnonymousInactive

Now how long will it take for him to mail it in…September 12, 2017 at 2:53 pm #1624265AnonymousInactive
Thank you!! Well, he said he would mail it in today… I made everything super easy for him. I even gave him the envelope with the stamp. I do not want him to say he did not have a stamp and had to delay it one more week LOL!!September 12, 2017 at 3:04 pm #1624271
You must be new to this “post office” game.
You NEVER mail ANYTHING to NYS without a tracking number or some type of proof of delivery.
God Speed to your Form 4B.
All of my documents were sent USPS overnight (with default tracking).
I have 15 years of USPS horror stories under my belt relating to client tax payments and mailed documents etc.
Good luck!September 12, 2017 at 4:30 pm #1624327AnonymousInactive
Oh my God do not scare me!! My soul cannot take another stab related to this CPA license process. On that note, if the form was to get lost, my boss would be so happy to give me his disproving eyes and then take another month to sign another form.
