It used to be about 3 months. Anyone know if that’s changed? Thanks!

My application got forwarded to the board on 2/15. My date of licensure was 6/15. It took 4 months from the time my application was forwarded to the board for my name to show up on the site with my license number.

It took NASBA a 1.5 months to process my transcripts after receiving them. If not for that my application date would probably be coming up right about now.

3/26 now. Said there are only a few left for 3/26 but that there are a lot for 3/27. Not sure what that means time-wise. I was also informed that there is someone that comes in to help out on Wednesdays so more are processed then.

I am now waiting more than 12 weeks (more than what was told to me). It’s very depressing. I hope the board knows the implication of this. My promotion has been delayed and I am really depress and very sad. I did my best at work and worked very hard but will not be promoted. I dont know what is wrong and it is difficult and taking a while. I hope and pray the board addresses this.

I had been waiting about 8 weeks before I realized you could find out exactly what date they are processing. I was happy because I thought it would help manage my expectations, but the progress is so herky jerky that it's basically worse. I'm on just over 10 weeks now (my date is 4/9) and I have my fingers and toes crossed that they don't have any questions about my application, because then I'll be old and gray before I am licensed. It gives me some hope that I see people on this board still applying under the 2009 rules for education, I figured 9 years later there wouldn't be too many of us left.

    My timeline:

2/27 – The board emailed me saying they received all my info.

6/7 – Gets approved by the board and gets sent to processing

6/20 – My name appears on the website.

Just to give you an idea how long it takes.

Could someone clarify for me what it is exactly that the board is reviewing/approving once the application is forwarded?

Are they re-reviewing the entire application again? Or are they just approving the education requirements?

Also, should I be concerned if I never received an email stating all my info was received even though I've called 3 separate times weeks apart and have been told that it was all received?

I never received an email or ANY communication from the CPA unit that was not first initiated by myself.

I am not sure exactly how it works, but I think all the review is done by staff before it “goes to the board” and at that point its more or less a “rubber stamp process” once it gets board approval.
Someone has theorized that the board only meets once a month or something like that.

I would imagine its a lot like a CCW permit. They are all reviewed/processed/back ground checked, and then are delivered to the judge, and they sit on the judges desk until there is a big enough pile, and then he signs off on all of them at once. Hurry up and wait.

I can see why 3/27 would have so many applicants, because there was a score release date on 3/20. There hasn't been a score release date since, so hopefully it speeds up once they get through the next week or so.

You guys really also need to realize were talking about the swamp here. My bet is that yes they are taking their sweet ass time, long lunches, days off, or days when they literally accomplish absolutely nothing.. Outdated and inefficient processes which all could be automated by a software engineer in a 24 hour period…Probably very slow highly computer-illiterate and easily distracted data processors who take up the bulk of the wait
