It used to be about 3 months. Anyone know if that’s changed? Thanks!

Heard from them yesterday. All was fine w/ my application except the supervisor that signed off had some small clerical error in renewing his registration during my employment (unknown to him at the time), thus deeming my form 4b effectively void. Another senior guy has agreed to fill out the form and re-submit, just have to wait for him to get back from vacation. Trying to stay positive in this whole thing, though the inefficiency of the NY process is truly baffling, but that is a conversation to have post-receipt of my certificate. To add to this, immediately after getting 365 days of experience (On day 366 actually) I switched into investment banking, so its pretty crucial this works out.
Sorry for the lack of update … been having to compose a lot of emails to old bosses.

August 10, 2017 at 1:51 pm #1597911PhoxhunterParticipantThis makes me sad to think how long it's taking because I was told my information was sent to the NYS Board on June 1st.
August 15, 2017 at 12:14 pm #1600427ReckedParticipantAs of Friday 8/11 they were on applications that went before the board on 4/12.
Still no word, 2 days out from 18 weeks.August 16, 2017 at 12:32 pm #1601312se98ParticipantSo last week I got the e-mail about my experience “issue”. My supervisor sent the new form on Wednesday and I also replied to the e-mail asking why I was being evaluated under the 120 hour rule when I believe I now qualify under the 150 and checked that box on my application. I have heard nothing back now in a week. How long is reasonable to wait before reaching out again? I just want this saga to be over.

I might give it until Friday. This whole process is incredibly painful.
I'm baffled how they could be on 4/12 last Friday but I still have not heard any news. So it goes…. and we wait…. and wait…August 18, 2017 at 11:40 am #1605086ReckedParticipantI called again on 8/17 (18 weeks). My file had to be sent to another unit to verify my supervisor's registration to ensure no lapses over the 15 year period.
The CPA Unit's records don't go back that far. They suggested I wait a couple more weeks and then call again if I had not heard anything.
They don't process many 15 year pathways, so they are not really sure how long the review could take.
They are always nice and try to be as helpful as possible. So it goes.August 20, 2017 at 9:45 am #1606397MOACParticipantdoes anyone know NYS application center email address?

cpabd@nysed.govAugust 21, 2017 at 4:42 pm #1609014AnonymousInactiveGood afternoon everyone,
I received my final passing score for AUD last week Thursday. I had sent my initial transcripts to NASBA in January 2015 and I was missing 5 credit hours. This summer, I completed 6 credit hours and sent over to NASBA last Wednesday (a day before I got my last passing score for AUD). Now, I am waiting for NASBA to update my transcript and send to the NYS Board. My question is, should I start getting my licensing application together including asking my boss to sign on experience? Sorry to ask this question, but I have nobody else to ask 🙂
Thank you guys much!
August 21, 2017 at 4:53 pm #1609023ReckedParticipantI would recommend sending it in as soon as possible.
The board is currently running 14-16 weeks, so even if it takes NASBA 2 months to process and forward, at least your file will already be in line.August 22, 2017 at 9:04 am #1609688vata20ParticipantIt will be 19 weeks (on Thursday) since the board received my application. I got word from them yesterday (only because I called) that it has been approved and I should receive my license within 2 weeks. It's definitely a long process in New York State.
August 22, 2017 at 9:23 am #1609721AnonymousInactive@ReckedRacing Thank you so much! I am going to start the process as soon as possible.
August 23, 2017 at 3:28 pm #1614210jess050190ParticipantI emailed the board today for an update on my application. They are reviewing applications received by the board on 4/24/2017.
August 28, 2017 at 4:35 pm #1617123ReckedParticipant19 weeks and 4 days!!
Received an e-mail from NASBA that NYS has approved me to sit for the exams!!August 31, 2017 at 9:30 am #1618579se98ParticipantThis morning I got an e-mail that the board had approved everything for me to be a CPA and that another unit would be processing to assign me a license number and send me the license. So close I can taste it (reminder, my application went to the board on March 29!). I wonder how long it will take to get the license # now. I'm checking online every day.
