Oregon Narrative

    Hi,

Can anybody share your thoughts for my concern?

Basically, Oregon requires a narrative to describe what I have done to meet their seven core competencies and I need to take an example to support my opinion.

I am doing taxes in a public practice and if I need to support the core competencies, and based on my limited understanding, I need to take a specific example like my client received a letter from AZ for supporting this credit due to what reason. To do so, I did research this and that and my finding was this. However, can I reveal the info without client’s consent? I mean of course, I won’t say client’s name or the name of business but I am not sure what the boundary is to share the client’s info with the board. I’ve read my people’s narratives had been rejected due to lack of details.
Otherwise, I have no idea how to take a detail example.

If anybody had experience for licensing to OR, could you please help me out?

    Thank you.

I am a Montana candidate who used the Oregon competencies for tax as a guide. I was not specific about clients but listed everything I did and hit most, if not all, of the competencies for tax practice. I can upload a redacted copy of what I used to support my application and it should give you a good start on yours for Oregon. To be clear Montana does not require what Oregon does but in the absence of guidelines I found Oregon’s competencies helpful. I think Oregon will want more detail than Montana requires. I will do it tonight if you want.

    Hi Monikernc,

I'd be very interested to see what you came up with for your narratives. I'm struggling to understand exactly what the Oregon Board wants for each competency. I find the prompts confusing.
