Hi guys, I took BEC exam in December without studying because I wanted to get an extra chance to take the exam before April, 2017. Unfortunately, I passed (80s).
That December surprise made me overconfident, then I scheduled all 3 remaining parts in one test window. I took FAR 2 weeks ago with only studying ch8 & ch9. When I walked out of exam room, I knew I’m doomed. I left 4 simulations totally blank since I only left 25 mins for simulations. My 2nd testlet was a BEAST, and it took me long time to finish. About 80% of questions on it were computation questions.
    1. I’m still waiting for the exam score. Is there still a chance for me to pass that exam with 4 blank simulations?
    2. Also, my AUD exam is on next Monday (80 hours from now).I haven’t studied anything for AUD yet due to my severe procrastination. Which chapter should I focus on now?

Hi guys, I just came back from exam.

The MCQs were fair, but some options were ambiguous. I doubled checked all MCQs but didn't save enough time for SIMs. Spending 45 mins for 7 SIMs was kinda rush, and end up left 1 simulation blank.

Chrisolo on a forum this busy you'll see all ends of the spectrum. I think it's abundantly clear here that best practice is to study well over 120 hours per section maybe even double that. Seems like you're leary that someone else may attempt to take a section without studying at all based on reading someone's claim to have done so successfully which may or may not be fact. My opinion is if someone reads this page, and latches on to some notion they don't need to study because one in 2,000 posts says as much, they get what they deserve.

    Thanks Goingallin! So lucky!

I will update my AUD score on Feb 23rd, and post my 48-hr study strategy if I passed. That was suffering, but I have better feeling than FAR.

All in,considering many of my posts in response to you often get “yeahed” or “liked” it means I'm not the only one that thinks similarly. You can call me judgemental but the argument can be made that you are incredibly sensitive and easy to get upset. I cannot even add a differing opinion without you going towards insults? You often exaggerate the intentions of my posts.

And congrats Dylan that's incredible that you passed.

@mla you've been here a long time so I think you should know when a post draws the right kind of attention or not. This is one of those posts regardless of intent that isn't going to be a place for happy discussion. If this were on any message board that uses some form of scoring or moderation like Reddit it would probably get down voted to or straight up removed from the forum.

No matter how you sugar coat it, it's a humble brag. The post title simple draws attention like a sore thumb and he talks in a “self-depreciating” way to look humble.

I have been following this thread with amusement and trying to refrain from chiming in- but let me get this straight you only studied 2 chapters in FAR, you left 4 SIMS completely blank and you passed with an 81? Your either the biggest liar to ever post on these boards or you are in the completely wrong profession- may I suggest either fiction writing or rocket science…

And they ask me why I drink

    BEC 71, 82
    AUD 75
    REG 75
    FAR 61, 69, 83

and they ask me why I drink...

REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade
    BEC- 8/11

I think, like someone else has said, it is possible to pass without studying with A LOT of luck and a VERY perceptive mind. A lot of FAR calculation can done using maths (and maybe a little bit of understanding how interests on bond and all those stuff works, but again, if you're good at maths, then these concepts probably come natural to you). The NFP and Governmental isn't as “natural” but if you have good memorization (and there are a number of people who do), then yeah – you're good to go.

I think the point is there are a lot of others who have struggled on this arduous journey, and a post with title like yours could cause “mixed” feelings. I, as am sure many others, are happy for you – but asking if you should study or not while this forum is a community of people trying to share tips/guide on learning, is perhaps, isn't really “adding” anything. I'm positive you didn't mean to put it that way, but that how it comes off to others.

    As for your original question…
    1. Since you did pass FAR with 4 simulations blank, maybe you will also pass the others. It means you did very well on the MCs because again, simulation is 40% (now changing to 50% I believe).
    2. You're already waiting for your score so I don't have much to say, but again, with your capabilities, I'm positive you will do fine. So an early congrats to you.

Sorry, I call BS, I don't care how smart you are, the subject matter of these tests is so specific and so nuanced, there is no way you can get scores like this without studying… But amusing nonetheless.

^Exactly!! I am so glad others feel the same way! Some of these posts about passing with NO studying or 20 hours are such BS!!

I'm really not being a hater, but you're lying. I don't care what anyone says of the possibilities, you're lying. You either studied your ass off and for some reason want to pretend like you didn't, or that pic u posted is a fake. I just don't believe you and it's obnoxious. It's not about your English being bad (which it actually wasn't)… you can't pass these exams, especially 2 in a row, in the 80's and not study… And leave four sims blank. Nice try.
