Hi guys, I took BEC exam in December without studying because I wanted to get an extra chance to take the exam before April, 2017. Unfortunately, I passed (80s).
That December surprise made me overconfident, then I scheduled all 3 remaining parts in one test window. I took FAR 2 weeks ago with only studying ch8 & ch9. When I walked out of exam room, I knew I’m doomed. I left 4 simulations totally blank since I only left 25 mins for simulations. My 2nd testlet was a BEAST, and it took me long time to finish. About 80% of questions on it were computation questions.
    1. I’m still waiting for the exam score. Is there still a chance for me to pass that exam with 4 blank simulations?
    2. Also, my AUD exam is on next Monday (80 hours from now).I haven’t studied anything for AUD yet due to my severe procrastination. Which chapter should I focus on now?

I need NASBA to ATTEST to your scores as well. Pictures are insufficient evidence for your fraudulently reported scores. Thus, an independent third party is required to provide corroborating external evidence. Otherwise, I will withdrawal due to your incompetency and lack of integrity! Jk. 😂

Wow…people take it too seriously. I think it’s good to know interesting things like this (left 4 sim blank and passed). I often see people asked here if they had a chance of pass when left 1/2/3 sims blank. So here is one more possibility lol.
Also some people are just good with exams/study/memorization such as my husband. He didn’t even know debit/credit before last year (he took two basic accounting courses for his MBA program), however he passed CMA with 3 weeks of study in October last year. He didn’t even study that much in these 3 weeks since he has a full time job and we have an 8 month old baby at home. I was actually mad at him when I saw he was playing computer games one the weekend before his exam because I hate to see he didn’t take the exams serious and that would be a big waste of money. I told him that I spent 6 months to finish my CMA in 2008 (4 parts exam that time) while I was in grad school and I don’t find it’s easier than CPA. The calculation related questions in CMA exams are more intense than CPA exams. For my CPA, I did 4000+ questions for AUD because I didn’t have any experience in that subject. That’s how much time and effort I put into these two certificates. Well, he took CMA two parts in one week and just passed like that. Anyways, so anything is possible, at least for some people.

Take a pic with your cell phone and include a fork in the picture (for authentication), then maybe we'll believe you.

I believe this proves he is telling the truth… maybe you should be a doctor instead of a CPA. Congrats!

Some people are very good at test-taking and obviously this guy is one of them. I've known of people who only spent a few weeks on FAR and REG and passed them. But, those people are very very few and far between. If someone can pass a part without opening a book, well, I don't know. It probably means that they are (1) a genius and/or (2) that they understand the subject of accounting well on an intuitive level and just don't need to prepare or study for an exam on it.

Having said all that….I'm really glad I don't personally know anyone like that. And I hope I never do. There are a certain small number of people like this on these forums (Reddit included, and I stopped going there long ago) who for some reason even take the time to visit the forums and post things when they really don't need to. There was one dude on Reddit, he was a post-flamer. He was like 20 and already had a high-paying job as an internal auditor and was going to be taking the CPA exams and starting work at Big 4 soon. He was also talking about very early retirement. He'd post short but highly boastful things on dozens of threads and then just vanish and not respond to any questions asked of him, like how he achieved success so quickly.
Who knows, it coulda been all lies.

Bottom line – 99.x percent of us have to study for these exams diligently.

You scored 89 for BEC? Fricken eh when you said you scored in the 80s, I thought you meant low 80s. Funny thing is you were actually being modest lol. I spent 150 hours studying for BEC and only got a 77. Applying at Goldman Sach anytime soon?

I have to say this thread really amuses me and I'm glad its here. Interesting to see people's reactions and experiences.

I don't know. This kind of thread is sort of misleading. Some people who read it might think that not studying for the exams is actually a good idea that might be worth trying when in fact, that's not a good idea for almost anyone. It's good to be modest, but seemingly modest people often have a hidden agenda. They want others to feel jealous of them and they had no good reason for posting it to begin with. I'm not saying the original poster was this way, but many people are.

I dont think this thread is misleading. If one thinks you can just take the exam without studying they will learn real quick. I have seen a handful of posts where people think because of work experience they could study for a few weeks and pass. Then realized they needed to do more than what they initially did.

I have come to realize people do not take to posts like this lightly. I think this forum is made up of different people with different abilities. Some can pass without much studying, some pass the first time and then there are those of us who have to take the exam multiple times to pass. I feel like people are much nicer to you if you are struggling.

I wish I was like OP and could just wing it on the exams. But alas, I must put in hours of studying.

One thing is for sure – if I was in the same situation as OP, I would not tell anyone about it. At least not until I was all done with all four parts, and then there would be no reason to mention it anyway. There are people on here who seriously like to try to de-rail other people and get a morbid kick out of it or something. Or they just post things for no good reason to see what kind of reaction they'll get. It's easy enough to ignore their “advice”/postings, but it's annoying and unhelpful.
