    Hi everyone,

I have a question about licensing. I passed CPA exam in California 1 year ago, and I’m a stay-at-home mom. We moved to Oklahoma and I planned to transfer my credit. HOWEVER, I’m 1 credit short for the upper-division course because I had my bachelor’s degree back in China, and some credits doesn’t count.

I will start working later this year. Is it possible to get the working experience here in Oklahoma and get the California license? Or should I take one more course and then transfer the score?

    Thank you!

Your best bet is to check with the board in the state you plan to work (i.e. Oklahoma).

On the CA work experience certificate the business address field includes state, and the certificate can be signed by any CPA, so I'd assume it doesn't have to be in-state.

Also I don't think upper division/lower division matters if you already have your bachelor's.
