As the title suggest, I recently passed all of my exams and looking for work. I have yet to receive the congratulatory letter as well. I’ve been sending resumes 2 months prior passing my last exam (november 22) with the description that I have passed 3 of the exams, which i updated them after passing all of the exams. But I also have no work expeirence related to accounting (In exception for a 4 month internship). I have yet to receive any forms of communincation as to this day and im feeling frustrated about this. Any tips/advice is appreciated.

Where do you live? I'm wondering how big the job market is for accountants where you are..

Yea living in Puerto Rico could be part of the problem and applying long distance with no work experience isn't helping..

Maybe go drop your resume off in person at some of the employers in Puerto Rico? They operate so slow down there its no surprise you haven't heard anything yet..

If you are planning on moving to NY then I would definitely change your address to appear as a local candidate. With no work experience, companies are not going to be keen on paying for your relo expenses for the position you will be interviewing for..

You might consider taking an upper level class in New York to take advantage of school recruiting. Most students are placed in accounting positions. Also, an internship is more experience than some have in the accounting profession. Other people on this website were volunteering for VITA programs to get experience in taxes. Check into that locally.

    Good luck!
