I’m about to complete the Becker lectures for BEC and so far I feel as if the lectures have not taught me much at all. I’m curious to see if people have had luck with just hammering out as many mcq’s as possible and making an understanding of them to learn BEC and pass?

Tuesday the big day (8/22) – more meaningful comments then. I consider BEC to be a “mini-FAR”. It's not as bad but it's broad enough, with enough detail to not underestimate it.

The examiners are going ape with IT concepts and there are many concepts not in the prep material. I did Becker. I wish I could share more but I don't want to breach any confidentiality agreements. Just know that they are quite current with IT concepts and some of the prep material is not.

    AUD - 77
    BEC - 81
    FAR - 77
    REG - 81
REG - 1. Becker only - fail (forgot to study depr - oops); 2. Becker only - Pass
FAR - 1. Becker only - fail; 2. added Ninja Notes and MCQ - Pass
AUD - 1. Becker videos; Ninja Notes, Audio, MCQ, Becker Notes - Pass
BEC - 1. Ninja Notes, Audio, MCQ, Becker Notes - Pass

I'm also interested in this. I haven't seen a lot of Becker BEC mock scores vs. actuals. Taking BEC in 16 days.

I took BEC three times in total. The first two occurred before the changes using only Becker. 68 in Oct 16, and a 67 in Jan 17. I had gone through the lectures once and the multiple choice questions twice for each take. After this busy season, I decided to supplement in more MCQs with Ninja. Just found out yesterday that I passed with an 82.

With my pass I studied the Becker lectures and MCQs like I had done in the previous two takes, but then for the last week to week and a half I strictly went through NINJA MCQs. I was trending 74% when I took it on 5/31. I'm doing the same study routine for my AUD test next week.

BEC: 82  Becker & Ninja MCQ

AUD: 77 Becker & Ninja MCQ

    FAR: 77  Becker

    REG: 77  Becker

but this is my 3rd take on BEC. AICPA did “go ape” on IT on my 2nd take of BEC in march. All IT were out of left field – my study material did not cover any of them. At one point I had 3 MCQs in a row that were IT. I always got it down to 2 answer choices so it was 50/50. But I must had like 16 questions on IT that day . Again this was my second attempt in BEC back in MAR.

    AUD - 84
    BEC - 81
    FAR - NINJA in Training
    REG - 75
    AUD - 84

    BEC-  81

    REG-75

    FAR- TBD

I passed BEC with just Becker but this was before the exam change. I think the most important thing for BEC and all sections is if you can't regurgitate the formula or you don't understand a section, take the time to read it and practice it until it clicks.

I took BEC in Q1 and got a 73. Then I took it again and found out yesterday that I got an 80. I only had 2 or 3 weeks for my retake and only used Becker. I didn't do anything different the 2nd time. I watched the lectures and did the MCQs.
Learn all the ratios and be able to interpret them. My retake was IT heavy. I would also recommend doing the AICPA practice questions.

    AUD - 76
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 78
    REG - 84
