Poll: feeling after exam vs. actual score

I just took FAR a couple weeks ago and am very anxious to get my score! It was my first exam and I honestly have no idea what to expect for my score. I don’t feel like I bombed it, but I don’t feel like I totally blew it out of the water either.

While I’m waiting for my score, I thought it would be interesting to see how people felt vs what their score ended up being.

    BEC:

After the exam: -52 (jk), not even enough to pass, like I was getting ready to retake it during the exam. Have no idea how I passed, maybe it was the WC.

    FAR (1st take):

After the exam: I was, like maybe enough, since I finished all the SIMs, but I was really unsure with the MCQs.

    FAR (2nd take):

After the exam: Really touch and go, I know the MCQs weren't that bad like I thought I nailed the first one. I did 6 SIMs as WELL as I could. However, I know for one sim, I literally started plugging zeros with 10 seconds left. So there were a lot of prayers.

    AUD:

After the exam: I was smiling during the SIMs because I saw a few that I've done before and that I know how to do. I genuinely hope I pass it because I've never felt that good walking out of an exam, like literally. I finished with almost an hour to spare.

REG: Don't really need an explanation, I didn't really study and it was like less than 3 weeks of work and lots of skipping days. Now I have to restudy it, sighs… last one….hopefully.

Timely thread, just got home after taking FAR (first exam)…

I thought I did well on the MCQ's. The first testlet seemed really easy. Second testlet seemed harder (Maybe it was just medium though), and then the last testlet seemed very noticeably harder. Finished all the MCQ's in 2 hours, with 15 minutes worth of breaks taken.

Simulations…I finished em. I aced the research question, but the others I know I didn't “ace”, maybe in the 60's on avg? I think you get points for the zeros, so maybe around a 70 on the simulations side of it.

Gonna be a long few weeks waiting for my score.

    I like this “game”
FAR- walked out thinking I probably got in the 50's lower 60's Actual score was 61- OUCH! that thing killed me

REG- walked out feeling like I passed but couldn't tell you by how much… I passed with the “perfect score” ha ha ha

BEC Take 1- Walked out feeling like I nailed it.. Was thinking upper 70's low 80's… devastation came in the form of a 71

AUD- really had no read. It was actually the first exam where it was VERY NOTICEABLE to me that the testlets got harder… by the end of two I seriously wanted to cry… I flagged so many questions between 2 and 3 but the SIMS seemed “doable”… was very pleased with another “perfect score” it really could have gone either way.

BEC take 2- waiting waiting waiting… walked out feeling about like I did with FAR… wanted to vomit and punch someone in the face all at the same time… If I had to guess I would say low to mid-60's….

And they ask me why I drink

    BEC 71, 82
    AUD 75
    REG 75
    FAR 61, 69, 83

and they ask me why I drink...

FAR- 61-next time I'll ask for lube instead of a calculator
REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade
    BEC- 8/11
    AUD- 9/2

First time I took Reg- was sure I failed. Made 82

First time I took Aud-confident I passed. Nope. Other times- just tried not to expect too much. Lol

First time FAR- knew I failed. 2nd time. Finished early and thought it was not too difficult. Made another 59. 3rd time I thought MCQs were horrible. No expectations. 70

    BEC- no clue both times.

There is no way to judge whether you pass or fail on these exams because no one really knows how they are scored. I see a lot of people trying to do it, but for me, it is a waist of energy. I have learned to do the best I can and wait for the results. My scores are not very high. Maybe other people with higher scores feel good about them and pass, but the only two times I felt good, I had miserable fails. Of course, everyone is different.

    Good luck. 😉

I didn't feel confident about any of them, but I was pretty sure I passed REG and AUD. FAR and BEC I was not sure at all. Part of it may be that I had plenty of time on REG and AUD but ran out of time for FAR and BEC. I left one SIM blank on FAR, I was so rushed for time.

REG: was my first exam and wasn't sure what to expect. I remember coming out of the exam positive that I failed. Ended up with an 89.

BEC: Even more positive that I failed than REG. MC was brutal and I took way too long. Only spent 45mns on Sims and my responses were extremely short. Ended up with an 82. After BEC I told myself that I wasn't going to worry after anymore exams because obviously my scores are higher than what I think they are going to be.

FAR: So much for not worrying. I took it on October 8th and have to wait until Nov 4th for my score. I came out of there 100% sure that I failed but as time goes by I find myself being more hopeful. Praying for a 75!!!

I am pretty accurate about my score. When I think I passed, I passed. When I think I failed, I failed. Every time, I know that I passed, I would remember a lot of the questions.

I never felt confident just after taking the tests. But I did feel confident before I took them, in the sense that I felt like I knew my stuff. The one time I failed I told my wife on the morning of the test that I really needed another week to study before I took the test. Sure enough, I made a 71 on audit. On the next 4 in a row I felt like I knew my stuff and was ready to take the test and actually talked smack the morning of the test. I was so confident that the weekend before my audit retake I spent the weekend in the French Quarter at a 2-day bachelor party.

@Cards18 and @over_it – I feel your pain on the waiting! I'm taking BEC in December and I feel like it would help me focus better to have come closure with FAR regardless of a pass or fail. I took FAR Oct 4th and I hated taking it so early in the score release window but I wanted enough time to study for BEC.

Congrats to all those that have passed!

Dude, you've got some willpower. Just keep taking this shit and studying hard. You'll pass it…you have too much invested in it. Sending good thoughts your way.

FAR – Took 1st time definitely knew failed and did fail with 60

FAR – 2nd time, had mixed feeling (thought did not too bad but not good either). Honestly was thinking did better than 1st try but failed miserably with 59.

AUD – Waiting Nov 4. I have same mix feeling (so most likely fail) but hoping SIMS to save me.

But then I think both times with FAR I was not clear with lot of concepts, no one to blame but myself but lot due to some personal issues/life changing events (still going on so don't know what to think every time I start studying or giving test, too much going on right now).

    Sorry edited it.

I've never been one of those thought I failed for sure and ended up high 80s/90s people.
When I thought more likely than not I failed I did. When I felt reasonably possible pass I passed.
