I just took FAR a couple weeks ago and am very anxious to get my score! It was my first exam and I honestly have no idea what to expect for my score. I don’t feel like I bombed it, but I don’t feel like I totally blew it out of the water either.

While I’m waiting for my score, I thought it would be interesting to see how people felt vs what their score ended up being.

BEC: Felt pretty good coming out, figured I passed, even though I only did well on 2 out of the 3 sims (3rd was only half done imo). Came out with an 87

REG1: Felt like 30% of the material was new, felt like 2 of the 6 sims were impossible. Was hoping for a pass but drove home thinking 70% chance I failed. Came out being a 70 actual score

REG2: Doubled the hours, felt much better going in, did well on book1 and book2, book3 felt like I was guessing and for the sims, I knew I was getting a zero on 2 of the 6 sims. Thought I failed. Somehow got a 77.

The only exam I ever walked out of the testing center with my head held high and just knew I passed was the only one I have failed so far…

I felt like I killed AUD my first time taking and was positive I was done. CPA Gods disagreed with me and gave me a 74.

So now I await score release on Nov. 4 to see if my offerings have satisfied the Gods and they allow me to be a CPA.

First time I took AUD, I felt like I passed–72. Ouch.
First time I took REG, I felt like it could go either way–65. OUCH
Second time I took AUD, I felt like it could go either way–79!!!!
    First time I took FAR, I thought I failed–71. 🙁
Second time I took REG, I felt pretty good–78!!
First time I took BEC, I felt like I failed–67.
Second time I took FAR, i KNEW i failed–58. WOW
Second time I took BEC, I KNEW I failed–61. ouch.
Third time I took FAR, I walked out and cried b/c I was sure I failed–76!!! Praise da lawd!!!
Third time I took BEC, I'm still waiting on that score…. I really feel like it could go either way. I'm going to puke b/c if I failed, AUD expires.

I'm trying not to stress about it b/c track record shows I really have no idea what to expect.

BEC and AUD I felt confident I did well on… With REG the first time I took it I didn't properly study and was well aware of it, so I was ambivalent and not too surprised when I failed – the second time I put in the work and felt pretty good about passing.

With FAR… I took it for the first time in September and was absolutely 100% completely floored… I felt I did well on the multiple choice but did horrific on the sims… Which – other than the fact it was my last exam and I lose a section at the end of November – made the 73 I got even more painful.

I'm only half kidding when I say I think I'm still getting over that 73 even though I have my re-take lined up for next week…

(Summary: Sims can be wild… But I think most of the time you can walk out of a test and have some idea of how well you did on the multiple choice)

    AUD - 90 (6/15)
    REG - 84 (12/15)

I walked out of all three exams I've taken feeling like I didn't do well enough to pass. I don't know how someone can walk out of these exams feeling confident. I have no idea how they're scored. I felt worse walking out of audit, so maybe my luck runs out or I do better than ever. Who knows

Agree duskfall..I always have mix feeling but never pass feeling, except for the first time when I took FAR I knew I failed and I did. It is hard to feel good about these exams. I came out of AUD and I was like I don't even want to think how I did and just wait for 11/04 and that's what I am doing.

FAR – I was absolutely positive I had failed. I've said it before, but i would have been less surprised to see a 50 on score release day than the 84.

BEC and AUD – I didn't feel great leaving the testing center but I knew I had a reasonable chance of passing.

REG – If this had been my first test instead of my last I would have likely left the testing center feeling exactly the way I felt after my FAR exam. But since I thought I bombed FAR and ended up passing, I actually felt okay about REG because my experience had shown me that it was a toss up. Fortunately, I passed.

    REG:
Attempt #1: Felt like I passed, got a 70. Better luck next time.
Attempt #2: Next window, I tried again. Felt meh. On Ninja MCQ I was trending around 75. Got a 73. Killing me, smalls!
Attempt #3: (fast forward 1 year later [2015] because I had a lot going on, couldn't commit) Felt like I failed. Literally cried because I knew I just failed and I would have to take it again. Passed with an 80. Phew!

    FAR:
Felt like I failed and knew for sure I would have to retake it. Got a 62. No surprise.

    BEC:
Attempt #1: Due to surgery and my grandfather's funeral the day before exam and only 3 weeks of study, felt like “I'll give it my best shot”. Felt meh after exam. A lot of IT but not too brutal like REG and FAR. Got a 64 🙁
    Attempt #2: TBD Nov 14, 2016

With that being said, I have no faith in my feelings judging how I did or not. They are all over the place. This is a marathon and you MUST be committed for the end goal or you will not make it.
Disclosure: I have a FT Sr. Accountant job as well as a spouse and 3 children (5 and 4 y.o.) I do think that these factors greatly affect how some can pass while others cannot. Regardless, I wish 75s for ALL!

    BEC – I assumed I got a 76. Got a 76
    AUD – I assumed I got an 85. Got a 76
FAR – Didnt know what to expect. Just knew it was between 70 and 80. Got a 76.
REG – I dont know what I got on this exam. Nothing in the 45 – 85 range would surprise me. Hope I'm finally done.

FAR – i took it because my NTS was expiring with little, practically no prep. figured what the heck?! two topics kept repeating – one very specific that i knew nothing about; the other more general that i knew pretty well.
didn't care about my score other than general info for next time – got a 76.

AUD – that exam practically and literally almost killed me. held my breath so much i almost passed out. horrible exam experience, stressed out waiting for it – got a 93.

BEC – i studied longer for this than any of them. loathed it to the point that i lost all respect for it. didn't care about score other than i really did not want to have to spend any more time with the material – got an 82.

REG – life really tried to interfere with this one. a lot of things happened but i kept digging into it. wasn't sure whether i should i stick to the set date or reschedule – stuck to it and got ok mcq's and all left-field sims. was willing to accept a retake considering all that had happened while prepping and didn't stress score release – got an 88.

i always did light studying while waiting for scores (not FAR) to stay fresh, just in case. 9 months – strange journey – ninja mcqs did me right. i miss studying but do not miss the exam and wait times for scores or the thought of retakes.

BEC – left feeling like I had done well. Started second-guessing and worrying after about a week. Scored 83.
    REG – same as BEC.
AUD – left feeling like I nailed it to the wall. Only 10 days or so to score release, not enough time to start doubting. Scored 92.
FAR – left thinking it was on the edge, could go either way. Just hoping hoping hoping. Scored 74.

I took audit and passed but when I left the exam every hour I changed my mind about if I passed or failed. I'm not kidding, every hour of the rest of that day and the next I was changing my mind and saying “No for sure I passed” and then the next hour “nope, I flagged a lot of them, I failed” I passed with an 84 (kinda proud of myself with that)

For REG my first time, I actually thought I did okay, I was kind shocked that I failed.. The second time I called everyone and said “I failed, I did worse on this one than the first”.. I passed. I truly don't play this game where I think I failed and I did awesome, I truly feel walking out of the exam that I did poorly.. I passed with a 79 (VERY SHOCKED)

For BEC I cried both times. The first time I knew I FAILED because during the first test-let I just cried.. I was very overwhelmed and tired ….. I took it again and I find out in a few days and I felt a little better this time but def. not much.,. I truly (not just saying this) feel like I got like a 70 (mainly because of WC- For some MC I realized I was running out of time, so for about 3 in the last test-let I didn't even try.. I literally went “eenie meenie miney mo”) .. fml.

This reg exam i'm waiting for friday I actually researched and checked my sim answers when I got home and felt good about them.
