Is anyone here familiar with public accounting recruiting ? I would like to apply to some audit positions for fall 2018. It is currently September 2017 and I have been working in a finance rotation program for about 6 months now. Does anybody know if I would still be considered for fall 2018 positions if I have a job already? I know these positions are made for college seniors who will be able to work the folllowing fall , but I would likely stay at my company until next fall if I got an offer. I hope my question makes sense, just trying to figure out if recruiters will consider me for positions next fall if I already have a job now?

Go to the local universities' Meet the Firms.

If you're out of school, why wait until next year? Plenty of national and regional firms are constantly hiring and don't follow the script of hiring classes of candidates the way Big 4 does. Go to the desired firm's website and see what's available.

Are you in any fraternities? I went to Beta Alpha Psi (BAP). The firms here told me to stop applying for jobs since I have a business (“red flag”). Also, I did have an interview off Accountingfly. They have an online “Meet the Firms.” It's a good way to get your resume out there.

I'm hoping to increase my connections because of what these firms told me and maybe find some people to team up with in my area.

Yes, most entry level positions will be starting next fall.

Your best resource is to attend ‘meet the firms' events at your school (alma mater), any school that has one open to the public, and also look into your state CPA society.

Almost always from my phone... please excuse my typos!
