Q3 – AUD FAR and REG Exam Experience

After March 2017 (Q1) exams, I signed up for another set of 4 sections exam for Q3 (Aug 22-Aug 31, 2017), not to impress myself or anyone, but to see how the new exam format was like.

Took REG (Aug 29th), FAR (Aug 26th) and AUD (Aug 22nd). So far, AUD and REG are doable as far as time management. As to passing, it’s going to be tight. It’s totally my fault, I honestly didn’t study much, just curious with the new format.

With the exception of last March 2017, with FAR (Aug 25th) I struggle to finish this section. Need to be fast with MCQs calculations (40-45 mins per Testlet). FAR SIMs are doable if you leave enough time to finish (2.5hrs at least).

One thing I notice, although I finished FAR and REG before the 15 minutes break almost at the same time (1.5hr left), the last 2 SIMs for REG are more manageable than FAR. Spent a little more time on REG SIMs Research question than I should.

Overall with the latest 3 sections that I just wrote, I conclude, that I definitely need new SIMs materials (likely Ninja) with the new CPA exams format, read the whole textbook (sticking with my old Becker textbooks) for each section, practice with my speed calculating MCQs (Becker/Ninja/some Wiley MCQ question banks).

Well, onto the next one, BEC (Aug 31st), last exam before heading home (Canada).

    AUD - 49
    BEC - NINJA in Training
    FAR - NINJA in Training
    REG - 55
    Passed: AUD (75%'08/77%'17), REG (76%'09) & BLaw(77%'99); highest on FAR (63%'11/'15) & BEC (63%'11). Credit Hours: USA(PH)-BCom'85(4yr-grandfathered); UBC-(DAP'02/'19); DC-(BBA-Acctg.'22-4th yr)=over 150 hrs credits
