How did it go for anyone having taken it in Q4?
I am scheduled for two weeks from now… trying to get a handle on the variety of topics.

    AUD - 86
    BEC - 81
    FAR - 80
    REG - 80
They were on to something when they said do it right the first time..

It was a lot more straight forward than I expected. I passed BEC in 2017, but the credit expired and had to re-take it. Took it in Q3 and got 71, but I guessed on all 4 TBS. This time around, I finished MCQs in 2 hours and left 2 hours for TBS and WC. I was able to read through TBS without any stress or pressure (not too many attachments), there were no surprises, nothing I haven't seen before in lectures or work experience. Took my 15 min break, completed the rest of TBS and WC (the last WC I did not do a spectacular job on, but I was ready to get out). I left feeling pretty good. I know I did a better job this time around than in Q3 so hopefully it's enough to push me over 75. Good luck and try to relax! I didn't know how much I remembered and knew till I was breezing through the questions and felt pretty good about my answers.

Any areas in specific you would emphasize going over? Any tips for final week or so of preperation?

Thank you, hopefully we will walk feeling the same 🙂
I feel very disheveled this time around. I think I've been taking these exams way too long and brain capacity has taken a nose dive.
    Good luck to all!

Believe me @Sg235, I know exactly how you feel! I've been at it since 2009! Took two parts then, let those expire, picked it back up in 2016 and have been taking at least 2 parts every quarter. Prometric guys are now officially my closest friends. I took FAR on Nov.12 and had the same experience as BEC. Just straightforward MCQs and TBS (and no DRS on either exam). But I walked in not sweating it at all this time. “Been there, done that, If I don't pass, I will just re-take it” attitude and that's what helped me relax and really remember things I've learned and seen in professional life. Just one thing about the BEC TBS: almost everything was common sense and formulas and metrics were all provided. I have no doubt you can do it!!! Good luck!!!

@Zmosburn– Been at it since 2008 on and off.. so I got you on this one.. lol! YOU are lucky you didn't have any DRS on FAR! Mine was loaded with them. Thank you for the rest of the tips.. I'm feeling really nervous about cost accounting because I just seem to be taking way too long on the MCQ and just dragging on the concepts this time around so that is a major area of concern I feel right now. I want to make it through this time as this cloud has been raining on my parade way too long!

@Sg235-Last time I had DRS on the exam was in REG Q2. I had 2 DRS. Completed one and totally guessed the other because I was running out of time. Passed with 77. That was a MIRACLE! I was laughing with my co-workers because I think when I logged into the Prometric's computer to take FAR and BEC in Q4 and the system recognized it was me, they just dummied the exam up for me so that I could FINALLY pass it! 🙂 Go over typical job cost journal entries with and without variances and memorize the flow. It can be very helpful!!!

From the study material it seems like the typical Engineer with MBA working in corporate type industry for 5 or 10 years (which is most of my friends and co-workers) should be able to pass. Its all the corporate jargon which if you work in the industry should know well – continuous improvement, lean, JIT, 6 sigma, ROI, FIFO, etc etc

omg, @Zmosburn and @Sg235 are cracking me up…then again, I might be losing my mind…I am eating frosting right out of the container with a fork. Developed a deep relationship with the mailman, we make eye contact at my front door several times a week. Convinced God changed my FAR score to passing to stop my daily drivels.

Thanks for tips and the laughs!

Oh man, @Red, I never thought of frosting!!! I've been on a steady diet of brownies and baklava, but frosting sounds so good right now!!! 🙂 Tomorrow is the day for you and Thursday is for @Sg235. You guys can do this!!! Just relax and trust your knowledge! From some other posts I have been reading on this forum in the past couple of weeks, people are having the same experience as I had with the exams. Fairly easy, straightforward, no confusion. We all will pass!!! And if all else fails, we'll pray to that score changing God! 😉

My BEC is tomorrow. Then wait for results on it and REG and hope I'm done.

BTW – has anyone seen actual Written Communication RESPONSE SAMPLES? All I can seem to find are sample Questions and TIPS. Since I'm a learn by example guy I'd love to see a good one and a bad one (as well as a real world one that is “just good enough” and still gets full points), so I can see both what to do and what not to do.
