Specially people who took the first REG for qtr 4 –

What are the takeaways? Is 2.5 hours for SIMS good enough?

Were the SIMS super lengthy with several tabs to navigate through?

Have my REG scheduled this Tuesday and am nervous as hell.

    Please help

Wondering the same. I’ve never felt so rushed in my life from the last REG Exam.

I wonder if they will ever consider having all the sims show up at once like they used to. Not sure why they break it out into separate testlets now, especially considering the TBS are not adaptive like the MCQ. If we saw them all at once, it would help us allocate more time to what takes more time (or less) without having to worry what MAY show up in the next testlet.

    FAR - 76 (Lost credit), 76
    AUD - 80
    BEC - 76
    REG - 75

Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, "Move from here to there," and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.

How did you feel about the exam? I took mine on the 3rd as well.

I was surprised to see just about the same set of simulations that I saw from my last attempt at REG, which was nice, and I definitely felt I did a better job this time around. There was one simulation (is it against forum policy to disclose the topic?) that absolutely surprised me and I guarantee you'd have nightmares about… I was very hopeful that it would be the pretest one.

As for the MCQ, I always have that slight scare when my second testlet isn't the “difficult” one, even though I've read countless times that people have gotten 80+ and they didn't see such testlets, but during the exam I couldn't help but wonder for a split second.

The wait is until December and I'll have to jump on BEC for my second go round until then!

Last thing… for the first time, I can say I actually FOUND the answer to the research question for REG (I was ecstatic)

    AUD - 77
    BEC - 77
    FAR - 75
    REG - 82

Are all REG research questions similar to Wiley in that it just asks for the Section # and then the corresponding lower case letter? Or do some ask for a specific paragraph like “a2” etc?

I can't speak for Wiley's program, being a Becker user though and having taken REG multiple times, the research questions have only gone as far to ask for the section # and related letter in my experience. I haven't come across a SIM in the actual exam that got more specific than that.

Is there a way to search the IRC by the section number and paragraph? For example, Section 1234, par a. Rather than using the key words? Just curious.

    Thanks.

@bluecollarnerd Yes, you can search in the IRC whichever way you like just with all the other exams.

@HT415 I just took REG the last day of the test window and if what you are saying is correct with the SIMs then I will be excited. LOL

    AUD - 84
    BEC - 75
    FAR - 75
    REG - 77
    AUD - 70, 84

Took my exam yesterday 10/8. I was able to search the IRC for the SIMs which was extremely helpful. This was the first exam that I used the entire 4 hours.

My questions got harder for the second set of MQs. I was thrown off by some of the questions for sure. I don't know if that was due to a hole in my review course or not paying enough attention to some of the details (very possible). I wasn't feeling very confident coming out of the exam.

I feel like I dominated the SIMs with the exception of one of them and I'm iffy on the MQs. I have experience in tax but still needed to study the material closely for some of the information not used/needed in day to day operations.

    Hoping I passed!

I used Wiley prep and Roger Audio. Audio was definitely worth it as my commute to and from work is full of traffic. He talks extremely fast though and it helps to know a little of what he's talking about.
I wanted to get the Ninja Audio but noticed it was lumped in with a whole package of materials I didn't need at the time. I may try the Ninja material for AUD coming up in December.
