Question about Initial License Application

I finished all my requirements and about to submit my license application to CBA. I have few questions on the licensing process.

    1. Do I have to pay $250 or $299 (Licensing Fee + Fingerprint scan). I am a CA resident.
In the handbook, it said I have to pay $299.

On the state website, it said that the fingerprint fee is for non-CA residents only.
    https://www.dca.ca.gov/cba/payment/options.shtml

    2. How does the livescan work? Can I do this before I submit my license application or do I have to wait for a fingerprint form from the CBA?

Can anyone in CA share their experiences of the process?

    Thanks

I recently inquired about this to cba. They said once they get your initial application, they will send you the form and further instructions for the live scan. I assume you’ll pay the $49 then. I’m also a CA resident and recently mailed in my package but have not gotten my finger printing done yet.

    Thank you, Tim.
Do you just mail in a $250 cheque with the initial licensing application?

    Thanks

That’s what I did. I found this link helpful: https://www.dca.ca.gov/cba/applicants/application_materials_checklist
