    Those who have studied Far through Becker and have taken the new (2017) exam, how did you feel the practice tests, in Becker, held up to the actual exam?

    I have taken, and passed (during the old exam), AUD and BEC while studying with Becker and felt the practice tests were far harder than the actual exam. I was wondering if anyone felt the same with the new versions of the exam.

    Thanks in advance!

    AUD – 80
    BEC – 78
    REG (2017)
    FAR (2017) – Tomorrow

    AUD - 76

    BEC - 80

    REG (2017) - TBD

    FAR (2017) - TBD

    MC = Easier
    SIMs = Harder

    Multiple choice felt like a breeze compared to Becker practice questions. Sims, man those were way longer and more complex than anything I had seen in the review materials (Becker). Felt overwhelmed with too many tabs of convoluted information. Gave it my best stab. Definitely was fighting the clock during sims while I finished multiple choice early(ish). Felt solid on 2-3/8 Sims.

    Signatures are overrated.

    Would you say the actual exam questions are small and not as lengthy (Big huge paragraph with overwhelming information that becker MCQ have)? Are the more straight forward and concise? Some of these becker MCQ are just poorly wording, multiple steps required and just out of nowwhere.

    Any advice on the sims? Time management or DRS?

    LMK. Thanks

    MCQs seemed easier with less calculations.

    SIMS stupid long. Too many supporting document examples.

    I used Becker's 2017 FAR material for the Q1 exam and passed. 73 and a 72 on the Mock exams and passed with a 79. As others have said, be prepared for the simulations. They seem never ending. If you don't know the answer to a MCQ don't waste time on it, you'll need to save that time for SIMs. MCQs were much easier.

    What I like about Becker FAR 2017 is they have 8-24 Sims to complete in each module. You have no excuses to not study sims if you want that 100%. In the past with Roger and Ninja I would skip the sims as there wasnt anything holding me accountable on completing them. Becker is awesome for me. I love the writing in the textbook. I dont watch a lecture unless the book in in front of me with my red pen.

    There was much more NFP and Gov't than I was expecting. During the MCQ portion I had at least 20 or more questions on Gov't and NFP making it 30% or more of my exam which is quite a bit higher than the AICPA blueprints led me to believe (10-20%) and based on the blueprint I didn't put enough time into studying the Gov't and NFP sections because I thought it would be at maximum 13 questions so that probably screwed me over. The Sims were also much more time consuming and difficult than anything I saw with Becker. I had probably the worst set of Sims you could get, they were all research intensive and the smallest one had about 5 pages of extra info I had to sift through and pull out the random, necessary information. I have no problem if the AICPA wants to make the test more difficult by including more Sims however the ones that I got stuck with seemed to be expert level type of questions, especially given the time constraint. I'm sure if I would have had more time then I could have done better but I barely had enough time and that was with rushing through the Sims and to be honest, probably bombing the sims I had. If they want to include more Sims I think the sims need to be a little less detailed and lighter on the research and more consideration needs to be given to knowing the concepts instead of knowing if a candidate can sift through pages and pages of info to get one number, if they don't want to do that then they need to give us more time to complete the exam.

    That was just my experience. I honestly hope no one else gets stuck with sims that were as long and drawn out as mine were because I feel like I did terrible on the exam, I prepared for 4 months and I feel like I have no chance of passing it.

    FAR- 7/14

    AUD- 8/31

    REG- 11/10

    BEC- TBD

    I took the first mock exam for FAR in becker and WOW! The first MCQ testlet was a killer. So many calculations, and random details. The second MCQ testler was easier (is that the general consensus for the first mock exam in becker?).

    Simulations in Becker are easier (kind of…still missed several points) but they aren't long.

    I know the actual simulations will be tough, but I hope the MCQ is not like the first testlet I got in the Becker Mock Exam. Didn't even know what to do with some of the questions, and some took me almost 5 minutes.
