First off, congratulations to everyone on passing in the new format of the CPA exam! I wasn’t aware of the score release so I checked into the forum ( haven’t in some time ) and saw the various threads.

I am taking FAR August 31st (my first CPA exam), and was wondering if anyone would mind sharing any tips on studying/reviewing in the last couple of weeks leading up to the exam.

I am using Wiley CPAExcel (I could be wrong but I did a 3 month study window which I have been keeping ahead of actually and their study plan leaves about a week and a half for review after the last lesson). I have been hammering NINJA & Gleim MCQs as a supplement everyday to keep refreshing myself on a consistent basis and have been reviewing other than the new material. Other than MCQs, I was thinking doing SIMs (I have Wiley, NINJA & Gleim SIM access) in the days leading up to solidify the material. I know people recommend destroying MCQs but I seem to be running out (not exactly, but I am getting a lot of cross reference between the 3).

Anyway, congrats to all of you and best wishes.

Drilling MQs is a must, but I also heavily recommend making sure to review the sims. You will likely get different ones on the exam, but being familiar with possible questions formats and how to answer them will help you save time. I did each sim (Becker) at least once and reviewed the formats and answers prior to my far exam last month. While the sims on the test were different, they were less intimidating because the formats seemed familiar. I personally mismanaged my time and had to rush the last two sims, but that was because I kept double checking the other 6 sims and each sim had multiple reference tabs that were needed to answer the questions. So, also practice your time management.
