I have an April 2017 Wiley Study Guide that I’ve been studying out of.

Do the materials in the guide cover all I need for the REG exam? I plan to take it in April 2018.

    Thanks!

I wouldn't sweat it, though of course you should try to stay current. Fwiw I passed REG in February using 2012 Wiley, and I think an MC on Affordable Care Act was the only thing that blindsided me (being unaware of any “new” tax laws post-2012).

One thing to keep in mind is that the new tax law changes that congress steam rolled through last year will be eligible for testing in 2019. So if you can take REG this year and pass then you should be ok.

    FAR-Mar 9,2020 (failed 71), retest May 21
BEC-Passed(I had a few stops and starts because I was studying during my busy season. Lost track of my study stats.)
    AUD-Passed(8 weeks,1877 MCQs, and 38 TBSs)-Wiley
    REG-Passed(10 weeks, 2000 MC)-Wiley

One thing I would add since you have Wiley, I have the same book in addition to having had access to Gleim and I can tell you that there was A LOT of overlap. About 60-70% of the Wiley questions appeared in the Gleim test bank too….like word-for-word!

I would use what you have and maybe sample some free online questions too. If you know it, you'll pass

    FAR 81

    AUD 83

    BEC 93

    REG 84

Thanks @alloverit 🙂 I plan on using supplements that I can find online, like the AICPA's samples tests. No way I will NOT pass the exam!

Good to know. I was wondering what I should use to supplement Wiley Test Bank+Ninja for FAR. Seems like Gleim may not be the best option.

In order to have the correct tax law – your materials would need to be updated as of July 2017 for 2017 tax law.

Technically – the 2018 tax law is the Trump tax laws … which aren't tested until 2019 … so your materials need to be updated for 2017 tax law.

    Weird, I know.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 76
    REG - 92
