Good luck studying this weekend. Just took my second mock exam with Becker. Got a 73%. I dont know how to feel. I took my first mock 2 weeks ago and had gotten a 71%. So I have been reviewing non-stop for 2 weeks straight only for a 2% increase. It makes me feel kinda sad. I havent reviewed my mistakes yet but Monday cannot come soon enough so I can get this over with. What do you recommend that I do for the next couple days? I was planning on working on my weaknesses, read my notes, look at the AICPA sample test. Let me know if there is anything else that might help!
@tncincy good luck studying. you got this!June 7, 2019 at 11:32 am #2458986June 8, 2019 at 12:26 pm #2461956
Hope everyone is studying hard. Time is going by quickly, before you know it will be July. I certainly want to be ready this time and ready to pass. No excuses, No procrastinating, no feeling sorry…..Study,Study,Study.June 9, 2019 at 9:45 am #2463630
sitting tomorrow really nervous about it, will lose far :(. any tips for today?June 9, 2019 at 10:15 am #2463669
@kakooakki i'm sitting tomorrow too. Right now I'm about to work on some SIMs that I found difficult/tricky. Then I'll read all the “pass keys” in Becker. I might look at some AICPA questions in the evening but I dont know if that will stress me out. If I don't do AICPA questions I will read my notes. Tomorrow morning I'll wake up early and go through my tax forms a last time take a deep breath and go in.June 9, 2019 at 12:19 pm #2463786
GOOD LUCK GUYS!June 9, 2019 at 3:53 pm #2464239June 10, 2019 at 12:17 pm #2466699
New week! Monday study time is a struggle, but I am trying to study from 7-9 tonight.June 10, 2019 at 2:09 pm #2466918
Yes! New week, I am working on my known weak area: Property transactions and capital gains and losses. Trying to find good video lectures on property transactions. I am going to try the ninja ones. Open for suggestion.June 10, 2019 at 3:21 pm #2467092
Took my exam today, my very confused about it.most of the questions was familiar expect few, i got confused about the concepts which i realised later. That means i didn't made sure that i studied them properly and i focused more on answering questions in my studying approach rather than making sure i understand. Blaw was shocking i felt it is definitely out of the 10-20% stated by AICPA. sims came within the topics as i expected however i ran out of time and couldn't complete it as i wasted so much time in research question and i don't think i even got it right. I am not feeling good about it, but you never knows. i am thinking of keep studying till the score release dates as it takes time for me to get up to speed back again.
I hope i pass it this time as i am sick of the CPA in my life, and i don't want to lose credit.
Good Luck everyoneJune 10, 2019 at 7:05 pm #2467746
@kakaooakki so hard to know how you did! good luck.
Would anyone be able to explain the difference between a Federal estate tax return vs Fiduciary income tax return? I don't understand which goes on what and the purpose of them.June 10, 2019 at 8:13 pm #2468001
Just took REG on Friday sending positive vibes to everybody on June 19June 11, 2019 at 7:50 am #2468916
Took REG yesterday. It was difficult. MCQs were hard. My first teslet destroyed my confidence a bit. It was hard. Second testlet was easier so I think that means I did bad on the first. SIMs weren't bad but they were hard. I really dont know what to think or how to feel. I hope I passed but I dont know.June 11, 2019 at 11:15 am #2469714
I took REG yesterday too. I didn't think the MC ?s were too too bad, but the SIMS were VERY HARD. I didn't focus too much on estate taxes because I ran out of time, and I got two sims on them which was brutal. All we can do is pray we passed!!June 11, 2019 at 1:48 pm #2470173
@ali crossing fingersJune 11, 2019 at 6:37 pm #2470977
Hope all is going well for everyone. Good luck to those waiting on scores, and congrats to those that passed 🙂 . I am still nailing down capital gains and losses and property transactions. I think I'm getting it.June 12, 2019 at 9:07 am #2472063
Using HabitShare – I have an 8 day study streak!! Woo!June 12, 2019 at 3:12 pm #2472855
Wow 74phoenix, that's a nice streak. In order to be ready in July, I have to turn it up a little more. I feel like I am studying too casual even though I am getting in the power weekends, and studying everyday. I have not seen the results in the mcq yet. No worries I'll keep going. I started my scores over, I hope that's not a mistake.
Keep studying gang.June 13, 2019 at 7:47 pm #2476053
I learned my REG result a few days ago and I am very happy that I passed! Before learning the result, I was searching this forum to see if it is possible to pass even if you did research question wrong (I am 100% sure I did wrong bc I remembered the question and checked) My sims didn't go well as well.5 of them were so so but the rest of it, I literally guessed. Also, my second testlet definitely didn't get more difficult! I wanted to write in this forum for those who are waiting their scores, dont lose your hope, continue your life, you never know..June 14, 2019 at 7:40 am #2476650
Tncincy, I also have to turn up the studying. I broke my streak the past two days….but I can't fail again so back to studying today!!June 14, 2019 at 11:00 am #2476989
Congrats Rchl. It must feel amazing to pass. I am going at it again today. I am starting my power weekend today as well. Why not? I don't have any pressing work I need to do, So here I am breaking out the books and notes and what ever it takes to make today count. It is so beautiful, I am going to study outside as long as I can. Come on gang. Let's pass in July. Let's study hard.June 14, 2019 at 1:17 pm #2477442June 14, 2019 at 2:59 pm #2477673
Wonderful 23. Bless you. I know it must feel really amazing to have two down and two to go. I intend to keep going into the evening hours. Which part are you taking next?June 14, 2019 at 3:23 pm #2477751
Thank you @tncincy. Only 1 down so far though. Retaking AUD next, tentatively early July. I know the sims were a huge weak area for me so I won't neglect them this time.June 16, 2019 at 3:17 pm #2481261
Really struggling to find the motivation to hit the books hard.June 17, 2019 at 4:59 pm #2483781
Hi Ninja's, I hope study is going well. Yesterday was very difficult considering father's day. My children came home Saturday, everyone was excited to see one another. I thought I could rebound but we spent so much time visiting I was exhausted Saturday night. Everyone went to church Sunday morning and had dinner and desert before they all went home. At mid-night I was too tired to even try to study (which was my plan for the week end) So I am trying to make up tonight or I don't think I am going to be ready for July. I did not get an nts yet but I am going to try to put a little press in it tonight. I think I have a little more time to really focus and hit it hard.June 18, 2019 at 6:36 pm #2487228
Just found out I failed REG with a 73…. Thoughts on retaking in early July? Giving myself 2 weeks to studyJune 19, 2019 at 9:10 am #2489511
@Boardmangetspaid91 I think you can do it!June 19, 2019 at 9:48 am #2489613
@Boardmangetspaid91 literally in the same boat as you. Just checked and I saw I failed with a 73 and knowing I was that close slightly pisses me off, but also makes me want to pass even more. Try not to think of it as a failure, think of it as an assurance that you know the material; just need to brush up on some areas. Thinking of taking it in early July as well. Not sure how to study other than more reviewing so would love to hear people's advice.June 19, 2019 at 10:00 am #2489694
@boardmangetspaid91 and @Karla welcome to the reg group. Most of us are not new but doing retakes. So, jump right in. Your input is welcomed.
Hope study is going well for everyone. What's going on 74phoenix? You know we can't pass if we don't study. We need to start the study marathon….all day and night. July is around the corner. Somebody said they were taking it again in two weeks. Hey, come on, we can't let them pass and we're still sobbing over failing. Let's take the challenge and cover some ground in the next two weeks. Or follow the how to pass in 20 days plan.
