Ughhhh, I feel so anxious. I am writing and re-writing my notes. I am listening to audio, I am doing mcq's. I am listening to audio mcq's. btw: How do you take notes on the audio mcqs without stopping the recording every two seconds? Mcq is not going good because I am getting them wrong. Anyway, I am trying to stay focused. This is going to be a long day FULL of study all day! 🙁 🙁 OK rant over, back to study.
It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader.....time to passSeptember 26, 2018 at 9:23 pm #1998371Edan Corp. made a pro rata distribution of marketable securities in redemption of its stock in a complete liquidation during the current year. These securities, which had been purchased in 2014 for $80,000, had a fair market value of $40,000 when distributed. What loss does Edan Corp. recognize as a result of the distribution?
A) $0
B) $40,000 long-term capital loss
C) $40,000 Section 1231 loss
D) $40,000 ordinary lossAnswer is B.
I thought that if a company was redeeming back it's stock it would recognize $0?? Or is that a different type of question lol

Anonymous1. I am currently studying for the REG exam to take in Early November.
2. I actually work in tax for a CPA firm and I am fairly comfortable with that portion of the exam. A lot of the topics I have address throughout my career, however I am trying to pass it now to avoid the 2018 tax law questions to come into play. I have enough studying to do on that just for my job come this winter.
3. The business law portion does make me nervous. I feel like I am learning and making progress here, but I do feel it is a lot of memorization and luck at times that gets me the correct answers when taking the multiple choice study questions.
I just recently took and AUD exam twice and made a 74 & 73 back to back. So my morale isn't the greatest at the moment.
Good luck to everyone sitting soon!

I must admit I did not study much bus law the first time and the Bus Law section alone in Wiley is over 900 questions yet it only makes up 10-15% of the exam so I don't want to get stuck in it but I don't want to lose points either again over it.. any suggestions other than “STUDY IT”? ThanksAUD - 86
