    I just know I will be taking this one again. 🙁

    Let just start with the testing center took an hour to get us checked in, and on top of that it was 83 degrees in the test room. (I sat in front of the thermostat.)

    The first testlet was medium and I had flagged a few that I wish I had more time to review, but between trying to focus enough on the question and trying not to sweat, I only had 4 minutes to review the questions based on my time table.

    The 2nd testlet was not hard….. (which means I probably bombed the 1st) I finished it with enough time to go over my answers.

    Here comes the SIMS and when I tell you it is impossible to estimate the time needed to get through them. I can confirm there were DRS on all but the research SIM. They weren’t hard, but having to sort through several documents is very tedious and I knew that once I felt like giving up I will probably receive a fail.

    This new REG is a beast even for me and I passed it 18 months ago with hardly studying my first go round. SMH. Gonna go over the questions that I can remember and prepare for a retake.

    Let me also add… I thought the new FAR was easier and Becker/Ninja/Wiley doesn't prepare you enough for the new REG as it seems to me more DRS based than any of the other exams.

    I think a lot of the questions were definitely out of nowhere. The ones they were testing out to see how we would do. Becker did not help out on this exam at all. Their material was way too easy. I'm going to think outside of the box if I have to take it in October. Majority of the stuff I prepared for with basis were no where to be found.

    Would you guys be able to elaborate on the MCQ, specifically about what made them so different or unexpected, relative to what's in Becker?

    I primarily use Becker and tend to incorporate Ninja once I've gone all through Becker, but seeing these responses to the exam about Becker MCQ not preparing candidates well is quite alarming!

    Any advice would be helpful!

    I ditched Becker for REG a while ago. The SIMs and MCQ's are a cake walk compared to others. A lot to my questions used two different tax rules at the same time and I has to decipher what they really wanted. Same with the DRS. Just go with the notes you have now and if there is anything you are unsure of use the IRS website to get more information.

    Use Ninja/Gleim/Wiley test bank as a supplement.

    @Tipofga

    I had the same exact experience you did today.

    MCQ's were either pretty easy or I needed to do a few calculations and really think the question through. But, I did feel a lot of pressure to keep up with the clock on the MCQ's.

    Sims… geese louise… The first 3 Sims were not too bad for me and I definitely earned good points. Then, came the next 5 Sims and I grabbed my ankles for the next 2 hours. 2 of the Sims were very difficult and really required higher order thinking that frustrated me in the intense testing environment. The other 3 were just very time consuming bc all of the damn documents and trying to sort out the info. I had to pretty much guess on my last Sim bc I was running out of time. So, if I fail it will be bc I had to basically guess on that last Sim, which will really suck.

    I'm really, really hoping for a pass, but it will be close. I feel like I did okay, but just got my ass kicked in a few areas – specifically 3 of the Sims.

    Goodluck everyone. I wanted to almost cry in the exam room at one point bc I was so frustrated with the Sims – no lie. But, I kept on pushing through and hoping that I get a lucky 75 or better!!

    Goodnight.
