Hi All! I hope everyone had very happy holidays!

I’m looking for some insight on how others who have used Becker and Ninja Notes together.

I have completed all the lectures and MCQs in Becker so far. I was thinking about getting the Ninja Notes and for the next week “getting medieval” on them (just re-writing them). Then I’d go back to the MCQs until I take my exam on the 17th of January.

Can any one shed some light on how they utilized Ninja Notes with Becker in the past?

Happy studying and may the odds be ever in your favor!

I was only using Becker last month and failed REG with a 69. For my retake in January, I have purchased the NINJA Notes and Flashcards. What I have found is that the NINJA products reduce the quantity and quality of the Becker materials. This is proving very useful because it's helping me memorize the most important *key* items of a topic and not every little detail like Becker's notecards.

I think I will actually remember more from memorizing the NINJA notecards than I would trying to memorize the BECKER notecards.

It seems to me that Becker is designed for candidates who are not familiar with the basic concepts of accounting. Perhapse those who didn't major in accounting, or who went into another field out of college then changed their mind years later. If you are fresh out of an accounting bachelors program or if you've been working in public accounting, Becker is overly thorough and stuffed with unnecessary basics.

For my second try on REG I used Becker and ninja notes. I basically went through all of Becker twice, and used the ninja notes at the very end during my weeks of review. I got through all of Becker once in four weeks, two units per week. During that time I didn't use the ninja notes at all.

During my review period, which was 3 weeks long, I redid all the MCQs in Becker. Week 1 of review, I did R5-8 and weeks 2 & 3 I did R1-4. Since tax stuff is more heavily covered in REG (tax 60%, professional responsibilities/extra random info 20%, b-law 20%), I wanted to spend more time on tax than I did on B-law.

As far as using the ninja notes in conjunction with Becker, I didn't find the tax section to be nearly as helpful as the b-law section. The tax section was too random and fragmented (just my 2 cents, other folks like it) for it to be useful to me, but the b-law section was so tremendously helpful, I'd buy them again just for that. I rewrote the b-law section during the week I was redoing all the corresponding MCQs in becker.

I got the ninja notes for all the sections except BEC, and never used them until my review period after going over everything in Becker once.

I would recommend Ninja Notes. I got them a little earlier in the study process for REG than you did, but they were very useful on the last couple of days when I was tired of reading my Becker textbook. I rewrote all the tax and any business law that I felt was important. Since you're coming down to your last couple weeks IDK if spending the time to write everything out would be the best use of time, but to each their own! Good luck!
