I appeared for my last section of CPA – reg on 9/5. After walking out of the exam room, i knew i am failing this one for sure. I cleared the other three in my first attempt but never felt this terrible after exam. I think i gave average performance on MCQ and guessed a lot on SIMS.

does anyone felt similar on reg take and thought they failed for sure but ended up passing ?

    waiting for 9/19 eagerly.

I 100% thought I failed REG. I felt like my second testlet got easier which was a bad sign. and some of the questions/SIMs were difficult to understand. But I passed! Keep hope alive!

    FAR - 78

    AUD - 75

    BEC - 83

    REG - 82

Well I had the opposite scenario. Thought I crushed it, got a 74… on my last one, such a bummer. So here’s hoping you passed!

I thought I for sure bombed the test. The multiple choice was brutal, I kept getting gift tax and estate questions which I didn't feel very confident on. Checking them afterwards and seeing that I missed them was a blow to my morale. I'm only convinced that I passed it due to my Sims and/or them throwing out questions from the test.

    AUD: 71, 77

    BEC: 81

    FAR: 55, 80

    REG: 77

felt like i failed mine for REG. MCQ were a clusterf*ck, marked at least 10 per testlet and SIMs were brutal… i only knew like 3 of the 7 sims the rest i secondguessed.. got the AL one really quick though. impossible to pass at this pt?

I thought I failed. The 1st testlet was relatively easy because I memorized so many MCQs from Becker and recognized that that they were in a similar format. The 2nd testlet didn't get easier — if easier means that there were minimal calculations. In fact, the 2nd testlet was 97% theory questions. But these theory questions were not all that simple. During FAR and AUD, the 2nd testlet seemed to be more difficult, but I was also less prepared for those exams than REG. However, I assumed that I received another medium testlet. But I didn't panic and just kept marching. Regarding the sims, I walked out thinking that all of my sims were pretest because I had some pretty vague instructions. The AL was simple and that was the only thing that I felt 100% sure about during the exam. To my surprise, I passed with an 83. But overall, I did not think that I would have passed. I expected somewhere between 72-74.

@rob dam bro congrats on the pass. my 2nd testlet for reg was almost identical to your situation.. it didn't get easier. in fact it got MORE confusing and i spent more time on testlet 2 which i thought was crazy because at least 90% of it was theory based questions.. and i got the AL question in the bag. your situation gives me a small string of hope

@Rob, thank you posting. I took the test Q3 on 9/10 and I had the same experience as well. I thought testlet 1 was easy, I probably marked like 5 questions. Testlet 2 was all theory and on parts that I did not get a chance to cover sufficiently. I probably guessed 20 questions, made my stomach turn. My Sims experience was alright. I feel if I did comparable on the MCQ and SIMs I can come out with a 75. Crossing my fingers that is the case.

    BEC: 75!

    FAR: 84!

    AUD: 81!

    REG: 79!

@Rob Hey man, curious to know if you took the Becker Mock Exams for Reg and if so how you did on them?

I took Reg in August after FAR and AUD. I felt the worse coming out of Reg than I did for AUD and FAR b/c the sims were insane. I had like a bunch of documents for 4 or 5 of the sims and I used the Auth Lit to try and figure out the answers. I definitely didn't expect the score I got for REG. Good luck to you!

Did you feel like you were guessing on the sims or were you able to find how to do them by using the AL?

@kris I was able to make reasonable attempt at them by looking at the rule and then doing my best to interpret it. I think on a few of them, I like used the AL to confirm that the way I did it was right.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 92
    FAR - 87
    REG - 95

Took REG on 8/17. Hysterically cried the entire way home. Texted my family and friends and told them I thought I sat for the wrong exam. I didn’t know a single SIM. Horrible experience. I got an 85.

@samantha hey i would be crying with you as well. congrats on the pass! you must have been really strong on the MCQ if you didn't know any sims o.O

I thought I failed REG based on how I felt going through the SIMs, and if I passed, then it would've been a score very close to 75 or 75. There were a couple SIMs where I didn't feel confident and I tried to look for some clarification using the AL and they weren't very helpful even if I found the information. REG was very opposite of AUD in which I felt confident but ended up failing with a 72 then on my retake for AUD, I felt like crap but ended up passing with a 86. This wasn't certainly the case for REG. In the end, I still passed REG with a 84 on my first attempt. I'd say don't stress too much about it. If anything, your fate has been decided since you hit that “submit” button on the exam in the prometric test center. It's just the waiting part that kills you.
