Hi All… I have a research question that I don’t really know if I have found the correct answer for it or not… can you guys help me?

The question asks how the basis to a corporation is calculated for property received in exchange for stock from a shareholder.

The closest answer I found to this on the literature is Section 362(b) (see link: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/26/362)

Does this seem reasonable? or is there a better response? Thank you!

I'm NOT SURE, but I want to say that Section 362(a) is the answer. Section 362(b) applies to reorganizations.
    Anyone else?

    AUD - 76
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 78
    REG - 84

Yeah, I think you might be right… that makes more sense than (b) now that I re-read it..
