REG actually is pretty conceptual. If you get a handle on BLAW and Ethics, you barely have to worry about tax. Just have to know your basis.

I found that while on the first go around, the numbers, exceptions and phase outs are overwhelming, toward the end, it all kind of makes sense and general rules are the same across the board, more or less. @Holly-I don't feel great about the Blaw section either…I have been re-reading Chapter 7 and 8 of Becker book on my commute and re-read trusts and estates yesterday…. My Ninja score for BLAW is terrible! 🙂

@aimhigher each CPA candidate has each preferred studying style. I don't know if this helps, the following helped me at one time:

    – Familiarize most of the tax forms and schedules. Make sure to memorize and know what items are included.
    – Memorize and at least practice items that need calculations, know the format well.
    – Memorize items that require thresholds, carry backs/forwards, administration requirement and obvious related theory.
    – As to Business Law and Ethics, make sure to read your textbook(s), especially few days before the exams. These are mostly theories, just like your audit. Make sure to do a few MCQs, to try out if you understand what you've read and study.

Good luck to you. I could definitely use 4 passes myself.

@Mtaylo, hey bud! I really hope you knock FAR out!! Im excited to read about your overall exam experience as a CPA I really think it will help a lot of people including myself. The proof of perseverance and dedication is what is needed on this exam. Intelligence is important but even if the smartest person takes shortcut they for sure will not pass. God bless us all taking FAR LMAO!

I really hate this section particularly, FAR makes the other sections much easier.. Btw could you give me some idea how you got almost 20 pt raise?

@Earla thank you for the advice!

Surprisingly I am excited bout the blaw and ethics sections as I took separate college courses on them and did pretty well.

Just need to grind through all the material once at least before I can look at my troubled topics in more detail.
